How many miles on your N54 aftermarket twins?

This thread is for people with aftermarket twin turbos (VTT, RB, Hexon, etc) to post how many miles they have on their current setups. Or if you had aftermarket twins and they failed, please post here as well.

It seems like everyone recommends to replace failing stock turbos with aftermarket ones, and say that they'll last longer than stock, but I've seen zero proof of this. In fact, it seems that the opposite is true.

So for anyone with aftermarket turbos (still working or failed), please post the following information:

- Turbo manufacturer
- Model
- Current mileage on the turbos
- Date of install
- Boost levels, other mods, etc.

Thanks!

I have 70k on my stockers and their solid. Holding 18+ psi on my map and tapering as told to. I'm looking for the same information.

Head over to n54 tech and there's more than a few who have had RB's fail under 2k miles and get stuck with the install and uninstall cost and end up loosing a couple grand because of it.

Great topic! I am leaning towards Pure Stage 2 or Hexon both very new.

They have 10k after rebuild or they had to be rebuilt after 10k?

Bought them used. Sent them to Rob for a full rebuild and VSR balancing. I have since put over 10k miles on them.

Rb turbos with Billet wheel
4k miles and they have been smoking for 1k

They were bought new and where sent back for a recall befor I installed them and still ended up smoking .
I and a few are going to make a list on the other forum of Rb turbo owners with this BS problem.

Now when you say smoking, you mean coming from the exhaust correct?

There is lots of information on the other forums about smoking rb's. He has yet to a knowledge or address the problem.

I'm gonna need a replacement soon and sure as hell won't be buying rb's.

The amount of people with smoking RBs is definitely in the double digits. The affected buyers should seriously considering banding together and slapping RB with a subpoena.

I been on these forums for a few years and haven't heard of any smoking RBs. Didn't know it was a common issue

Let's keep this focused on mileage data from owners of car with Hybrid twins... The RB issue is well documented. I'm VERY excited to see the results of this thread.

I haven't had any issues with mine so far. Mine were a used pair I purchased off a forum member and sent back to RB for full rebuild, billet wheel, turbine clip, and VSR balancing. Are yours VSR balanced?
