camera options?
I'm debating which camera to buy as my first dslr camera. I ran into this package deal at best buy and walmart. My plan is to take pics of the kids and car. Do not plan to make this a hobby but still want good pics.

im more a canon guy
i used to have a canon eos 40d that i really liked. check out couple of my shoots http://jony93.free.fr/daniel_kufel_p...es/Random.html http://jony93.free.fr/daniel_kufel_p...ages/kids.html i dont know if you have a wallmart close to you buy on amazon its a little bit cheaper http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Digital-...ds=Nikon+D3000 ( it also depend on the shipping fees). i honestly prefere to have one good lenses instead of 2 i dont think that you are going to use this lens a lot 55-200mm f/4-5.6G unless you want to photographs some landscape from long distance. but looks like you have a good deal. |

Buy a Sony NEX-5R (or Sony NEX-6 if you need viewfinder), it has better image quality than most DSLRs with APS-C sensor (because right now Sony makes the best APS-C sensors) and it's way smaller. Or buy a Sony RX-100, it has close to DSLR quality in a much smaller package.
Trust me, the smaller the camera, the more you will use it. The larger the camera, the more you will leave it at home because it's too big and heavy.
