Michelin Pilot Sports got a flat - ok to get it plugged?

So I ditched the RFTs a couple months ago and got a set of Michelin pilot Sports. The other day I noticed a screw in the tread (not the sidewall) of my front right tire. I didn't get a flat tire warning so I assume it is not leaking. This was a week ago (I'm currently on vacation in NY) and the car has been sitting in the garage. Is it safe to have it plugged/patched? Do I need to get it rebalanced afterwards?

Thanks

If you break the wheel down you much re-balance. You should be able to just plug it and go, if the nail is not on the side. If it is on the sidewall the tire is trash.

Get the tire removed and patched from the inside.

How do you like the tires? Do you have A/S or summer?

Sure, but remember that repairs like this void the speed rating on that tire.

You should be ok with just a plug.....but it is much better to patch it from the inside so it wont leak at all. But like island111 said make sure they rebalance it if you chose to patch it since they take the tire off the wheel.
