I think its horrid - truly. No redeeming features. The mk1 and mk2 however - different story.

Nothing special really. Now if it was a RS Turbo then it would be worth 5 times that! The Series1 has always held more money than the Series 2.

I don't agree with the sellers views on SH. My 1991 Fiesta RS Turbo has FSH, every MOT
from new and 2 fat folders of reciepts giving a thorough concise history of it's life.

Essential in my opinion.

Are they original wheels? Don't look like it to me.

I like it.

They are great fun to drive. I had a hoot blasting down tight, twisty B roads in them. Rorty exhaust note. Good, honest fun, all the benefits of the cooking model plus better power and handling.

Used to service these in the 80s. Could change a cam belt on a CVH in 1/2 an hour.

Wheels are original.

The "flocked" dash looks like it's from another motor.

Yeah, the centre console, steering wheel and dash are all different colours.

XR cars never really did it for me simply because the RS Turbos existed.

Probably am, more 'teledial' I seem to remember. I hankered after one of these in the 80's, an XR3i or RS Turbo. I ended up owning a 2.8i Sierra XR4x4, and the later 2.0 XR4i.

Those were the days, Banarama, Pet Shop Boys, Human league, XR Fords......

I remember wiring in Audioline Graphic Equaliser/Amps and new speakers to quite a few XRs.

With the pulsing LEDs and lots of little sliders for the left and right frequency bands. Thumptastic.

Certainly a step up from the "premium" 5 watts RMS per channel standard fare.

Before autoreverse ... I could eject, flip and insert a tape left-handed in seconds while racing along in between changing gears ...

Tuning was proper stuff back then too, not just a remap. David Vizard, ported heads, high-lift Kent cams, Janspeed exhausts. Happy days.

Good choices. How I yearned for an 1800cc Golf GTI Campaign Edition, in Lhasa Green, with Pirelli "P" alloys....

I haven't really left the 80s ..... still fiddling with cam verniers and advance curves.

In the 80s Fast Car was actually a serious Mag - I scanned an old article by David Vizard on tuning the Pinto (25mb). Not a chip in sight. Dave Walker was also a great contributor back then. Before it went to shit with dolly birds and MaxPower style bodykitted hatches.

David Vizard was a God. I was mostly mucking about with the A series in those days when 100bhp was the Holy Grail. Great stuff though. I'm going to read the Pinto article and reminisce...
