Service Maintenance Review Andrew Russell, BMW Master Tech Lake Forest, CA Recently my 07 e92 hit 50,000 miles so I decided to find a servicer for a tune up. While shopping around for a good Indy mechanic, I was referred to a BMW master tech out of Lake Forest, CA. A fellow member gave me his contact info so I decided to shoot him a text. After exchanging texts for a few weeks, I decided to pull the trigger on some recommended BMW maintenance along with shell blasting of my intake valves. Service's done: - Intake Valve cleaning (Walnut shell blast) - Replace spark plugs and reset CBS data - Flush brake fluid - Flush Hydraulic clutch fluid - Coolant system flush - Transmission fluid service - Power steering flush - Oil change Took the car in on Saturday morning and went back to pick it up Sunday just before noon. He took the liberty of upgrading my brake and clutch fluid to ATE blue dot 4. My warranty is up this summer, so he fully inspected the entire engine, ends up i have a small oil leak somewhere around the profile gaskets which I will be taking to the dealership to get checked out asap. Also found that my lower control arm on the driver side is leaking. (perfect excuse to upgrade to M3 upper and lower control arms) Andrew was very professional and he knew exactly what he was talking about. He is very knowledgeable with BMW's, especially the N54. Pre and Post of the Intake Valves... Reason for this review is to recommend him as a good INDY mechanic to those looking for services without the hassle of getting the runaround or getting over charged. Very humble and willing to take the time to explain things in full detail. I am planning on using him for mostly all my installs, including my coilovers setup which hopefully come REAL soon. Prices were very reasonable compared to other shops I looked into. The shop is located off El Toro and the 5 fwy. Hopefully you SoCal heads give him a shot... PM me for his details if you are interested. THANKS FOR LOOKING! |

Definitely PM me the name of his shop. I'll be looking for a place around here for some independent services when the time comes...

I have also had work done by Andrew. I'm extremely picky with mechanics, since I do most of my own work. I expect a mechanic to do at least a good a job as I would since I'm paying them, and rarely do mecahnics meet that expectation; but Drew does and then some.
