is 80-100hp mods safe for my 335i xdrive?

I have an '09 335i with xdrive.
im sure this has been discussed, forgive me im a new member... but is it safe for my car with 75,000 miles on it? can the xdrive drivetrain handle it ok? Im thinking about doing the JB4 stage 3 with twin cone intake. Should i consider anything else? BOV? Intercooler? new piping for the turbos?
Any advice would be appreciated

Intercooler is a great mod. You may have a bit more trouble with downpipes because of the extra mechanicals in the area.

Xi will handle the power ok, just dont powerbreak launch the car as infinitigor said

just don't do it often. it is HIGHLY stressful on the transmission

When you powerbrake a RWD car the rear wheels break traction easily. AWD has better traction since the power is being split four ways, but its much more wear on the transmission since you arent going to have much (if any) wheelspin. The force that would go to turning rear tires into smoke is going to screwing up your transmission. Talking here about an autobox. Lots of Audi and GTR guys will dump the clutch at high RPMs to launch. I'm not an expert, just speaking from my experience.

There's also the question of how strong our transfer case really is, but most of us with high HP Xis aren't in the habit of launching ever. Other than that one concern, yes, the xi can handle the extra power.

The xi's seem strong so far. Like others stated, I wouldn't be the one to launch it aggressively.

To answer your questions directly, the JB4 and dual cone intakes should be fine on your car. I would do more research on all of the tuning options to make sure that you get the best one for your needs. AFAIK the BOVs are a waste of money. A front-mounted intercooler is a very common, useful mod and a lot of people will recommend upgrading your charge pipe if you are running higher boost.

My XI constantly pulls 1.6 60' times with no issues yet. Did this in my 535XI running low 12s and now my 335XI running high 11s.

I have a 2008 pro-tuned Cobb Stage 1+ (FMIC and DCI) running 40% ethanol with the kind of extra power you are referring to. No problems!

I have had a 2008xi and now have an 09 xDrive and I turn off traction control and brake boost all the time. If you care about your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times then you must brake boost launch. The only people that have had trouble that I have seen had to do with launching in 2nd gear and the issue was automatic transmission related. I have no idea how the launching is with a manual tranny is since I have an auto. (auto brake boost is about 2500rpm's) I would imagine if manual guys launch at 5,000 rpm's it would put more strain on the differential and if done incorrectly you will blow through clutches and flywheels often. Any racing and aftermarket upgrades are going to put more stress and effect longevity. You have to be aware of the risk and be willing to pay to play.
