What springs.....?
Hi everyone, I've got a 2010 320d and was just wondering what springs you guys would recommend to lower it, it's an se on 19s so a bit of a 4x4 at the mo. keep looking on eBay , not wanting to spend to much so not fussed bout coilovers cos it's basically the wifes daily but just want it to look good parked on the drive way any help appreciated

I put on AC Schnitzer lowering springs on my previous 2010 320D SE. It gave it a reasonable drop (not as low has H&R) and the ride comfort was just as good as OEM. Handling improved as well, less body roll and felt really planted around fast corners. I'd recommend ACS if you don't want a huge drop.
Just be aware that adding only springs can cause your dampers to waste away a lot more quickly. It also cause the car to bounce more when driving fast over bumps, which is what happens when you add springs only. |

I used an H&R sport cup kit on my previous E90.. it was perfect for giving the more aggressive look without going over the "top".. you can purchase the springs alone without having to "spring" (du, dum, PSH) for the struts and shocks, which drive up the cost about 600 bucks.. Id only stick with the OEM suspension if you have the sport package and relatively low miles, but thats just my opinion, good luck mate!

Ok. I can try to be more helpful. there is guy here :nick "business edition" he has 320d 2010 highly modified and fast . Pm him . I use eibach sportlines with standard shocks and they are same comfort level to m-sport but lower. If you have budget its better to buy kit with shocks but best of both worlds are coilovers imo. Used to have h&r on e46 with se shocks , it just didn't work. Good luck

I chose the Eibach's over the H&R after seeing pictures of the H&R's and thinking they were too low for my useage.
I kind of now wish I'd chose the H&R's but probably would be saying the opposite if I had, if that makes sense!!! There has been no change in ride comfort but the handling is improved. Don't get me wrong it's not Bilstein or KW V3 quality improvement but enough to notice. |
