Dealer says car is here, BMWUSA says "in route"

So, BMWUSA says "car is in route to prep center." Dealer just left a message on my phone saying "car will be here in few days.."

I'm guessing this means it will be at the prep center in a day or so and the dealer is wanting to close the deal a week before it comes? Personally, I'm ready to take delivery tomorrow, but I need to figure out what I am going to do with my Acura TSX first.

They might both be right. For me it only took 2-4 days after my car hit the VPC for it to reach my dealer.

You could always bring your car to CarMax and just sell it to them for whatever they will give you for it.

Well, from what I can see, it is not even at the VPC. I thought I had another week or two.

You should've known better (if you had spent some time here). The BMW USA OC site is notoriously behind on status/updates. Most e90posters know better and rely on the 1-800 number and numerous calls to their CA.

In any event, rejoice. Your car is here faster than anticipated. Most folks around here feverishly count the days (maybe even minutes ) to delivery.

Thanks!

(p.s. BMW should give you guys commission. I doubt I would have felt comfortable ordering one without all the great information I've been getting here).

Per BMWUSA, my car was still "in route" for 3 days after I took delivery. It is always a little behind.

In fairness, I just spoke to the CA this morning. He said it had "just arrived at the VPC and will be on our lot in a few days..." That jives with what BMWUSA.com is saying. This morning it updated the status as arriving at the VPC.

My E91 is on the dealer's lot. I've not made the final deal because I still have the issue of what I'm going to do with the Acura. Unfortunately, my TSX with its vaunted reliability is having electrical problems (VSA light keeps going off, lights in center console flicker on and off) so it is hard to sell it to a private party. I basically have the choice now of sinking more money into my old car before selling, trading it in (dealer gave me an OK price, a bit below KBB), or Carmax.

The BMW stealership beat Carmax's price by $1500. The funny thing about the situation was that my car was having major problems. I had a stability assist light going off on the dash for no reason, the lights on the auto tranny shifter were going on and off, and then the blower motor on the A/C died and starting making whistling noises. So, I figured I'd have to sink thousands into it just to sell it. On the morning I took it over to dealer, all of that stuff mysteriously "healed." There were no warning lights or anything. Strange, eh? It would have been hard to sell privately in that condition, so I took the beating on the trade in and moved on.

Anyway, just got back from signing the papers. Dealer installs the alarm tomorrow, and the E91 should be in my driveway by Tuesday morning.
