BMW admits window scratching issue

I have seen a few threads concerning the window sweeps in the door scratching our windows. I am a victim (same as others) having their window tint ruined by rolling down the windows.
Anyway, while at the dealer (in Belgium) this morning about this very issue, I was told that BMW is fully aware of the situation and is coming up with a recall/fix for it and that I am to return in a month or so to check on the status. He told me, once BMW tells them how to deal it I could bring my car in and they would fix all four doors.
We shall see how long it takes, but at least he freely admitted this is a known problem and BMW has stated that a fix is in the works.

Just thought I would pass it along.

I don't see how BMW has a problem because it scrapes an aftermarket tint. If it were scraping OEM glass it would be a problem??

I had window tint installed on w/ the dealer when I bought my CPO 325i and I have no window scratching....would this be a problem with later model e9x's?

FWIW, My early 05 build e90 is really bad on the back passenger window. It was a CPO car so I just always ignored it.

Been doing that for a few months now lol.

I hope BMW will fix them for me though...I keep fearing the day I need to get a pay for parking at a garage or something.

Its not a problem. It scratches aftermarket tint, not windows. You have your rubber seal coated with felt or you remove it. Simple as that if you want to get aftermarket tint.

well the tint is 2 weeks young, and yep, i have two straight line scratches on the drivers window, and front passengers window. they run from top to bottom. not on the back windows yet, because they have not been put down.

had i known this, i never would have waisted my money.
