broken taillight repair?

I have an E91 LCI, and the left outer taillight lens is broken -- there's only a small hole in the lens. LEDs are all working fine.

I see some taillight assemblies on sale for eBay, and the really cheap ones have intact lenses but non-working LEDs. So my question is, is it feasible to dissassemble the eBay unit and use only the lens, replacing my broken lens with it? Or are the taillight assemblies impossible to disassemble and reassemble?

Because of the rarity of the E91 in USA/Canada, it is nearly impossible to find fully working recycled taillight assemblies for them. Shipping one from Europe is not worth the cost. You'd think they use the same parts as the E90...alas no.

Thanks...
