If you are getting codes at the drag strip, and don't know what they are, best idea is to err on the safe side and call it a night.

P30FF is a boost leak code. Ive never heard of a "cylinder shutdown." i suggest getting in touch with Cobb ASAP.

I know you were trying to be empty before filling up with high octane, but you should never drive to you are literally empty. You'll start sucking up all the crud that settled in your gas tank and that will foul your fuel lines and injectors.

Hopefully it's only the injectors!

I agree that's the worst thing to do is running out of fuel completely .Last week I ran my tank till it said 3 miles left in the tank cause I wanted to change fuel stations and see if I feel the difference from shell to mobil. The worst is running out will suck my all the garbage in the tank to your injectors like nafoo said.wow these cars will tell you of you have boost leaks?looking forward to Cobb stage 2 + did lots of research and I'm liking what I'm reading this far .

+1

I just stepped my game up to Stage 2+FMIC and its nice to have the Stock Throttle mapping back (normal Stage 2+ didnt have ST maps available)...Car has been a lot of fun and pulls like a freight train!!! Big smile on my face ...Only issue I have is slight surging in the 3-4k rpm range but I already hear Cobb has a fix in the works...once that is fixed the car will pull much more predictably..

Hope to get some new updates from Cobb soon

The fuel tank has a special design with a pocket which collects all the impurities/debris. That pocket will keep filling with impurities for the life of the car. Or at least that's why a BMW tech told me.

Have manual stg1 aggressive, MT and still 'surges' so it's not a AT thing, or a stage 2 thing.
(strictly speaking it feels like DTC is intervening at around 3k to 4k and then lets the car get the full beans)

What I find interesting is that stage 2+ boosts up to 18psi even at minus 8 degrees Celsius (just tried that out last night).

I always thought the DME was working with load targets and that these would mean that at colder temperatures the boost would be lower as well (colder air equals denser air). However it seems that such is not the case here.

This is the best description of how it feels...It feels like the the car bogs down in that 3-4k rpm range and then boom the power comes hard and strong really fast..

It's a bit early to say anything definite, because I've only driven the COBB for a few miles and had the GIAC stage 2 for more than a year.

So far I do like the COBB, the stage 2+FMIC aggressive that I'm driving right now feels quite a bit more powerful. Boost is higher too, 18psi compared to 16psi, so that's not a big surprise. Sound is slightly different, with COBB it seems more throaty, raspier which is probably due to the different vanos programming.

GIAC was smoother though, I also seem to have that so-called "vtec effect" where the torque seems to be launched in stages and not in a smooth line. This can however also be partly due to my slipping clutch, and COBB seems to be aware of the problem and working on it.

If I were to keep my stock turbos, I would not have changed from GIAC to COBB as I was very satisfied with the GIAC stage 2 flash and it worked very well. But as I'll have the RB turbos installed next week, there was no choice as the GIAC flash does not work with them.

With stage 2+ it works more like a boost targeting system, they do it with the big horsepower Mazda speeds aswell.
