Good credit, the dealer giving me .9% financing, and $5,000 of the sticker. The payments are pretty darn low for this awesome car. I'm far from rich, just have no kids and live in a paid off house.

Handed down a Lexus ES300 in senior year of high school, busted my ass working full time and going to school full time in college and got myself a MB ML320 (was a 2000 when I bought it in 2008).. Continued to bust my ass, and leased a 09 E90, lease expired just as I was graduating college, but still bust my ass, so I leased a E92.
So moral of the story : I bust my ass for my cars

The old fashion way - work hard and save for a substantial down payment.
Found a good deal with a decent finance rate.

seems like the majority of people here are buying used anyway, so it's really not much more expensive to buy a BMW vs other brands

a BMW was a dream for me since the early years in middle school, joined the military but my first car was a brand new 05 corolla S and long story short i saved enough money fighting the war to buy a E92 and i wouldn't drive anything else after this, well maybe a 6 series hahaha..

Bought a 2009 Civic, making payments like a dog to pay it off early.
Always fancied a BMW to be my eventual perfect Daily driver, and a family member was wanting to sell their E90 to buy a civic. I just so happened to have a civic, so we did an even trade. The civic being a year old with 25k was valued very similarly to the then 4 year old BMW. I had my fair share of maintenance to catch up on because they didn't / expired warranty. But I like to think I got a good deal. I'll be getting an X5 for the wifey when I'm more settled into the career. She can enjoy her Maxima till then. |

I don't like having a car payment so I waited until I had enough money for the car. (payed cash) then felt bad about putting miles on it every day so I bought an rx8. (DD 120 mile a day commute)

After college in 07, got a $10,000 sign on bonus from an Investment Bank. They went bankrupt (you guys can guess which bank now lol) and gave me a huge severance.
Put that 10k down as a down payment, made monthly payments and paid off the car with the severance. I feel as if i got this car for free... Only thing I paid for out of my pockets is the mods.. lol.. I feel lucky.

My 74 Porsche 911 got hit by a truck. My wife kept saying I wasn't happy with my replacement car (Mazda 3) She insisted I get another sports car. God I love that woman!
Oh, and I get paid rather well too. |

Worked fulltime and saving all my money since 17 as a line cook at fine dinning restaurants, graduated high school with a 3.7 (no plans on attending college lol) made sous chef at 19. Tried to buy an e92 but with 15k down I couldn't get financed (guys at the dealership treated me like shit and looked down on me even thought I had 15k down) so I financed a 2000 Mazda millennia for 18 months to get some credit history. Payed it off early by that time I was still making pretty good money and had alot of saving and free income. So I caught the bus to the dealership (even thought I still had my Mazda) got off the bus right in front of the dealer talked to the same sales man who treated me like shit. He told me when I got on the lot I must have good credit or a cosigner to be back on the lot a laughed. I said no, test drove a 2011 335i coupe loaded (with said salesman) after the test drive I said I'll take it, he said let's try to get you financed and chuckled, I said no, "I'll be paying straight cash". He didn't believe me, or even noticed the draw string backpack I had with me so i opened it and he became the best salesman ever but it was to late, to teach him a lesson at the last minute I got another salesman who had just started there and said I'll take the silver 2011 335i coupe over there. The asshole salesman looked as me and the manager counted the money in astonishment. Didn't even needed the car detailed because it just had came off of the truck, it still had the plastic on the seats. So I got my BMW by working hard, staying focused, shitting on an asshole salesman along the way and 5000 off sticker and free CPO WARRANTY
