No. I am sure you can remove your ECU and ship it to Dyno-Comp for reprogramming.

Yes its safe. They can not detect a tune. The only thing is when you go in for service IF they reflash the ECU the tune would be removed and you could tell by when you got the car back and it wasnt as fast. lol

PS They dont really reflash anything ever.

Well this certainly livened up my morning! I will wait until more info is put out and some members purchase it and see if the claims are true or not. Would not be a bad mod to get depending on the hp's gained. With gains you always lose something though!

Yeah, you lose $895 out of your checking account. Oh, and potentially your engine and tranny warranty.

No risk, no reward!

I'm extremely interested as I have the same config in question, I have a 325i with steptronic. I'm going to be happy with all the exterior mods I have ordered, once I install them, I need performance next.

This may be it!

Yeah the dent in the wallet is the obivious loss. This is more viable than any other mod if the results are what it claims to be. We shall see.

I would bet my money on that 325i and 328i will dyno exactly the same numbers.

I agree with you. Cause isn't the 328i the same engine as the 325i? Just tuned a little more?

Uh, no...the 328 engine is actually a detuned version of the new X3 3.0si engine.
There are changes to the main block, cylinder head and pistons compared to the E90 325i/330i.

That's hilarious. The 335i is already at 350-360 hp out of the box. BMW just underrated it at 300 hp for marketing purposes. Automobile Magazine Dyno'd a 335i and showed 275hp and 300 ft-lbs at the rear wheels. If you take a manual 330i dyno chart and apply the same losses from engine to rear wheel, this means 335i is putting out more like 350 horsepower at the engine.

Pay 1295 to get nothing... in the case of the 335i. I am curious about independant 325i results though.

dont believe everything you read. automobile shows some nice dyno numbers but it was using the Dynojet which tends to get optimistic numbers and it was a preproduction model. well just have to wait and see for real life dynos from members...but i do believe BMW is underratting the numbers a lil bit not to hurt sales for their upcoming M3

Thumbs up

Alot of cool responses to my 325i ECU re-flash here. Thanks James @ Creative Autoworks for letting me know about your thread - very informative

The guys at Dyno-Comp here in Scottsdale AZ are awesome. I was expecting modest gains and they gave me back a new car :rocks:

Acceleration is dramatically improved as is the throttle response. Anyone in AZ that wants to check it out I'll meet you at Dyno-Comp, let me know.

questions answered

sorry guys this is a bit late, but i will answer as many Questions as i can, fist, question about dealer detection, the dealer usually cant detect the flash, if for some reason it is an issue the flash can be removed and the stock flash reloaded. so rest easy. and if the dealer does a update and clears the flash, it no problem the ecu an be re flashed with your performance tune which is kept in our files . next no effect on drive ability. next gas mileage (i always love this question) gas mileage will only be effected when you poor your foot in it and most of you will, a lot! Next. any Evotech dealer can install it for you. or if you prefer you can remove the ecu yourself or have your technician do it then send it to Dynocomp, ATT Ken or Jon. i am working on an instruction manual for install and removal, for those of you that want to do it your self, it should be finished in a week or two. Next dyno results, these # are posted because they are real and accurate in fact they are a bit conservative, in fact this tune is on 91 octane, for those of you that have access to 93 octane, a tune can produce and additional 15hp. and for the Question of dyno accuracy the dynodynamics dyno is one of the most accurate dynos in the world, unlike the dynojets ( witch reed hi) and the mustang dynos and others like them, the results are true, and any dynodynamics, no mater where in the world the run is made, will be similar to the next. in fact many factory race teems use this same dyno for there tuning. next the 330i results will post as soon as i get a chance to load them most likely next week. next the 330xi YEP, have a flash for it. no problem for the X cars!!!. and you should always dyno your car be for and after any power enhancement is done. the only true way to test for gains, is an be for and after dyno in the exact same conditions and on the exact same dyno. next ya! the 335i flash is available NOW! you have to understand that evotech software is from Germany, and the 335 has ben out there for some time now, so we haven't ben waiting on the software, we have ben waiting on the car!! and ya upgrade turbos will be available, to the likes of around 400 hp thanks every one and i must say good questions and good thred!!
