after a long vacation i have decided to go for the convertible.
First choice was the coupe with sunroof also because i like the roof shape more. But convertible's give me the feeling like being more connected to the surroundings and i like to go for long trips and experience different places.
Now i'll wait a little till spring to hunt for one.
Thank you for your opinions.

My buddy just got an e93 - I love it.

But reality required a 4-door

There is an excellent thread for this by a Nordic Kat (I think). Regular lubrication etc.
Sure there are lemons and issues, just like any other E90/ E92- but by and large don't let the hardtop scare you off- it is a marvel of sorts, and can provide years of trouble free open air enjoyment
I read Nordic Kat's post. Although its good, but I think its extreme. You do not need to apply so many chemicals to keep it in good shape. All you need to do is make sure you keep your car and all the corners/rubber parts clean.
Yes, its complicated and sophisticated mechanism, I did pay couple of hundreds to adjust some minor rattling, which I believe is normal.
If over the period of time the rubber parts deteriorate, I would happily get them replaced. E93 roof will def cost more over E92 :-)

Dont worry about negative comments...with the complex system there comes some extra maintenance. Good luck in your search and hopefully in the spring you'll be driving your new 'vert !!!

thanks for the good wishes.
I am not worry about maintenance, i'm a bit of mechanic myself when comes to BMW.
I was considering to have a car to suite most of my needs, but this is not possible. so for me the 3 series is like a ''glove'' i decided i shall have a e90 320D sedan as let's say more family car since i will be needing one soon, and i'll get a E93 as fun car, my car.
problem solved .
I had for a test drive a 2009 E93 335i with DCT gearbox - verry impresive gearbox, if you like automatic is a fantastic option but for me after few days i missed the manual so i'll go for a manual for my E93.

I am definitely a vert guy also - I like my power and handling also, but vert first then the rest - just can't beat that top down feeling! It is also my fun car, I have a sedan for dragging the kids around and an SUV for dragging the junk around, so I don't have to consider practicality in the equation although my e46 convertible was my everyday car to drag the kids around also - willing to give up some practicality just to have those top down days - nothing compares except my motorcycle!

Great choice, I love the vert. But I disagree with the statement above. At least in the states the verts drop in price for the winter and then go back up in the spring, so the best time to buy one would be now I got mine at the end of January and happily looked as the prices went up up up in the following months

Well where I live the top is down most of the time. When I do put the top up people don't believe it's a convertible. That being said, the coupe's windowline is something I somewhat envy.

I'm biased, E92. But E93 would be fun spring/summer car:-).

If there is a cooler car in the universe than my WIlma, I have never seen it. Lol.

Convertible is the greatest thing ever invented. My roof is the blue sky.

E93 is heavier
E93 looks a little off with the roof up
E93 top has issues

I thought convertibles were for girls and old men showing off their bald spot? Targa tops are for the rest of us.

E93 - heaters and heated seats make it pleasant even when it's cold out
