Hmm, your setup seems to be a little different than mine. Did you ask why they combined the Hyperco and Swift springs instead of just going with one or the other?

You might be able to go one higher in both the front and rear with ur spring rates and still have a compliant road setup.. A sway obviously helps stiffen things up but doesn't work as well like the right shock and spring working in unison will do.
Also I heard the swift springs are not as harsh and the spring rates are forgiving a little more than other manufacturers. Hey since all of us are on the edge about mainly the rear we can always swap out for I'm guessing a reasonable price. It's the front that would be a little more challenging. |

I hear that Matt! I like that the setups are a bit different, that way we can compare notes. We need to keep this thread alive and share experiences. I am hoping to have some oversteer, it would be nice for a change. I am pretty tame on the street so I don't anticiapte issues there, and at the track I would love to be able to get the back out a bit now and then (if I learn how to handle it of course).

Matt has it on lock! Cant wait to see how much this will transform the way the car drives. The stock xi suspension can be pretty scary when pushing it. At times a bit disconnected, and floaty on turns.
I know Matt will work his magic, and never know, car might see some road courses etc. Not too sure about auto-x though. Regardless, she will be a handling monster on the street! |

Nice sal! Glad to see matt knows what he is doing because like I said I am just a novice at it and was just reading a little bit about it .
it seems like a lower spring rate for you would be better in the rear because you're gonna be putting all the m3 parts on Can't wait! |

Like I said- mine are at Vorshlag- getting my plates assembled. They are in short supply of a bolt, but expect me to be able to pick them up today. I'll post pics just to mess with you guys!

I wonder what differences were made for the xi vs the i besides the mounting points for the front since the rear is the same on both cars I think?

This is not fair!!!! I was the first one notify everyone these were available and order them!!! These look great! I can't wait for mine....I spoke with Harold today and AST shipped ours to him and he expects them on Tuesday...I know...another week. After speaking with Harold I'm going with the 400lbs/800lbs setup. Based upon the weight of the XI he thinks we should go with this setup....
Good luck with your install! |

As for the 400/800, I moved up a little too but am staying closer to 700 in the rear. I think the 400 in front is perfect because of the extra weight. If he gets them on Tuesday, something needs to be done with shipping to make sure we get them by Friday and not let it carry over to the next week. |

I understand your frustration. I did place my order only about 6 weeks ago. But, to be fair, I was involved from the beginning. I was calling Brian Henchey @ AST back in November as well. I spoke via PM to presidio many times about them, after I learned he was the beta. I just didn't place my order until February. Anyway, the only reason I got mine first is that I live here in Dallas where AST USA is, so once they were stateside, there was no more shipping required.
Any way, soon enough we will all have them installed. I really want to keep in touch, I am trying to gather the names of the XI guys that track their cars, kind make a sub group, to compare setups and notes. I think this car (the XI particularly) can be a great track car with the right mods. Are you guys running camber plates? |
