ProClip for e90 and iPhone Installed

Hey All. I have been an avid customer of ProClip for all my cars and have just installed my newest unit for my iPhone 3GS into my LCI e90. I thought I would share some pics (sorry for pic quality):

Shipping was VERY quick... ordered this Monday night and had it on Wednesday morning.

Here is what you get:

The bracket to mount it to your dash. It does NO damage and if fully removable. It snaps into the trim and is VERY secure.

The device holder for your phone or GPS unit. This is attached to the Bracket via a swivel. It is padded (covered in a very soft Velvety materiel) allowing the iPhone to slide in and out easily.

I chose the upper vent position mount but they have many options available. I chose to mount my Garmin nuvi to the left of the steering wheel on my e46. Notice the pry tool provided to cause a gap in the trim for installation.

Here are 2 pics to show the device holder attached to the bracket:

And now with the iPhone in place in upright and horizontal position:

Although the bracket is mounted over the vent you can slide it to one end or the other of the vent. Also there is sufficient clearance for airflow. The Hazards and lock switch are not compromised. This setup also offers full 360 rotation of the device.

Hope this write up helps you out... GREAT PRODUCT

New here, first post!

I just got a Proclip setup today. I went to install the mount, which goes in the exact same spot as what you have pictured here.

However, it looks like that entire section of wood trim in my car is now loose, and sticking out maybe an inch where the engine start/stop button is.

Did you have a problem like that? I'm waiting on one of their customer service people to call me back tomorrow, but I'm rather worried I might have caused some damage. I don't wanna have to pay like $5k for a new strip of wood for my car!

Thanks for any input, and I hope you somehow see this reply since it's 2 years late!

I was on the bordit site the other day and noticed they had a few different designs for the E90. I'm 99% sure that there were specific clips for the wood trim so have you ordered/been sent the right one?

I bet your trim is just missing a little rubber grommet or plastic piece on the back....pull it off and take a look....

Ugly is as ugly does. ProClip holders are the best available quality- and looks-wise.

However, for me the requirements are: 1) the mount has to be powered, 2) it has to accept the phone with the skin on. Unfortunately, there are no perfect solutions for the phones that satisfy these requirements (of course, it depends on the phone as well, not just on the mount). For that reason, for GPS I'd stick to a dedicated GPS device with powered mount (like Garmin new 3xxx series or older 2xxx series).

Firstly, it's for iPhone. Meh...

Secondly, it probably requires iPhone integration option (can anyone confirm?).

yes, as advertised, the BMW station for Apple iPhone is for Apple iPhone

It requires only that you do NOT have Idrive in your car, any other options with/without 6FL or Bluetooth is fine.

That only works as a holder. If you want to have an active mount that charges the iPhone, ProClips has a few versions with the dock connector built in but you have to provide the cabling.
