Got the car back. Will get pics/vids tomorrow. Its storming out, but I took a cruise before it and it sounds really good. Kinda deep, IM sure it will get deeper. It does have a bit of a droneish sound at around 2k rpm crusing near 60 in 6th. It wasnt overbearing at 80 on the highway though. Im sure that will all 'tone' down a tad and be deeper too after I get some more miles on it.
Now, the fitment, it doesnt stick out far at all, exactly like stock. The problem is it sits too low. Dealer said its as high as possible, its pretty dang low. Once these rains quit Ill see if I can get some pics. I think if the tips sat higher somehow that they would look okay. If they cant get higher, I may end up either putting the stock tips back on or going with a 3.5" tip that looks exactly like the stock (with the slight angle cut and thickness on the tip of the tip). Sound though, I hope the tad droning will die down. under WOT its badass though, and even under light accel its not too much louder then stock. Very happy with it overally though, especially since OTD I got a steal of a deal. |

OP, looking at your pictures, your exhaust does sit a little lower. Good thing I checked this thread before having it installed. I told the dealer to raise it and push it in a little...

They can definitely make it higher...just make some adjustments to the hangers...

Agreed. Funny how it looks so different on some cars. The install looks so simple I'm not sure why there's any variability. The good news is that height is an easier problem to fix than how far it sticks out. Bend or modify your hangers and you be set!

Dang, didn't even notice you had an aftermarket exhaust on Sunday's drive. Next time I'll have to drive behind you, want to hear some different exhausts in person.
Do you still have both sets of cats? |

All it is are mufflers on the coupe. It sounds much better in person then on the vids and some of the vids are good. I had heard it at Mfest in Vegas and knew then that it was what I wanted. |

to all PE owners, i don't know if it is because i had the stock tips welded onto my PE or not, i do realize that after some aggressive driving for a period of time, especially the exhaust gets really hot, the exhaust tips are sticking out about 1/2 inch further. when the car cools down, it goes back to normal.
does this happen to the original PE owners or any exhaust system which is being welded?

I would think shortening the hangers as another poster said, would be the quickest fix. That's gonna look really good! Those tips are a great size for the stock rear bumper.

LOVING the sound though. Didnt realize PE still had golf tee mod capability, not sure that it needs it, but we'll see. What tad bit of droning I had yesterday I do not have today, and it seems a tad deeper today. Very, VERY happy with it. Got a vid of cold start and I had a 5 sec crank...cranks are getting longer on me, damn HPFP could be going. Ill get that vid up when I get the others on Sunday. |

Here are some pics of my BMW Performance Exhaust. I think they look a little higher than the OP's and they don't stick out as much...

I initially thought I would change out the tips too...but actually like them the way they are now I just don't want to have to mess with what BMW intended. I mean, it's cool when I see these tips from behind, b/c then, I KNOW that car has the BMW PE As for sound, it's so INTOXICATING. Larger tips MAY or may not change the sound, but I don't want to take that risk. Larger tips may even sound louder (?), but again, I love the way it was intended to sound from BMW. BMW PE FTMFW!!!!
