E90 330i Automatic Transmission Fluid

I have 93,000 km on my E90. I am planning to get an automatic fluid change. I've read that at high mileage it is not recommended to get a change since certain gunk might dislodged causing issues with the transmission. Is there any truth to that?

Also, how many litres of ATF fluid do I need? The dealer is quoting about $31 per litre but they don't have pre-packaged bottles like engine oil. They suggested I bring a large container to hold it.

How often should I the tranny fluid once I start changing the "lifetime" fluid?

Yes, this topic has been covered several times, do a full fluid/filter/pan change as your fluid only has a few miles left on it. Lifetime fill is 100k.

I wouldn't either. I've seen plenty of cars in the past with new fluid at higher mileage and then the transmission starts slipping with the new fluid.

I got my stuff here:http://www.thectsc.com/
Had my mechanic do the change. 2 hrs labor.
58K miles
Do a search. Someone just did an ATF change at 135K no problems. The AFT is meant to be changed at 100K according to BMW. I would just do it.

Edit: I see you are in Toronto and have a 330I. A US 330 has a ZF trans. I'm not sure about the CA one. I have a ZF and the link I gave if for ZF parts. If you have a GM it's different. Check before you proceed.

I would change it as a preventative measure. I did a drain and fill only with no pan/filter change, but I did drop the pan to take most fluid out. I did not feel any difference either before or after the fluid change.
