jb4 no boost under certain rpm?

I'm still reading into the n55 as much as I can.. quick question tho. from my understanding when the n55 is untouched it doesnt give boost unless you go over a certain rpm? 2500 i think? but does this change with the jb4 and also if i do throw in a jb4 is it 100% necessary to get a charge pipe? I obv dont want the stock one to break but i also dont wanna spend to much just want a little more power thats all.. thanks in advance

Boost does not really "kick in" until about 2400? I think..

The JB4 will not change that, rather it will give MORE boost.

The CP is not required. It will just help the longevity of the CP itself, because more boost = bye bye Stock plastic CP

Does a charge pipe void the warranty?

Never had trouble with my stock cp under map 1 settings, but when you say a "little" power? You understand that dollar for dollar the JB4 is an amazing amount of power gained.

Is map one just for a stock car? Like the 50-60whp gain? With no other modifications?

Correct, if you get into any other mods (DP, FMIC, E85, etc) then you will definitely need an aftermarket CP, no questions asked. I ran on Map 1 for the last 6-7 months even a few 1/4mi track days with no issues. Just upgraded to a BMS CP because I'm going the E85 route.

Take it off and put the stock one back on if you have to go in for any warranty work, it's a 30 minute job at most. The dealer isn't going to pop your hood, see it, and then void your warranty. They honestly don't care/have the time to care, it's BMWNA you have to worry about since they're the ones who handle large warranty claims

Yep, the JB4 was the best money I've ever spent on my car with my DP coming at a close 2nd. You really should get the charge pipe, a lot of people have blown them up at stock boost levels AND it's pretty cheap

Is Map 1 the same on the Stage 1 and stage 2 versions? Not planning on tracking. It's a E93 and I'm not adding a roll bar!! Stage 1 cheaper and would use the savings to replace the cp.

Thanks, ML

Stage 1 will be detectable by the dealership while Stage 2 is not, spend the extra cash
