alignment problems
Just had my car aligned due to tire wear and lately my pass side rim has been rubbing on the strut on right hand turns
My alignment sheet, somehow my camber is way out of whack and i'm stock sport suspension with,19" m359's alignment by saxonbrian2, on Flickr |

Check your bushings, etc on the front suspension components and also your front shocks are prob blown or near dead, right front being the worst.
...Your front camber is horrible for being on stock sport setup, with 2.8 you should literally see and easily notice your front wheel leaning into the top of the wheel well. Last edited by Br0; 06-21-2012 at 06:06 PM.. |

If your suspension is stock, than you have suspension damage. Was the car in a wreck?

Hubs, control arms, the strut itself, etc. Are you the original owner?

Worn out struts will not change alignment settings or ride height to effect camber. Something either has been changed or damaged.

EDIT: And btw blown charged gas struts *can* mildly affect ride height due to the charged gas placing some upward force on the car with the spring. But ya prob not enough to put the front at 2.8. Last edited by Br0; 06-22-2012 at 11:43 AM.. |

~25 4/8" Driver and ~25 3/8" Passenger. Assuming that's from the top of the wheel well fender flange to the bottom of the wheel rim, Bentley says 19" wheel stock ride height should be: 24.60" -- 625 mm Front 23.82" -- 605 mm Rear Big dff - are your measurements to pavement? If so, what do we have as spec'd above? Including the tire will introduce error depending on inflation & wear, so let's take that out for now. Are tires worn, esp on the inside? |

tires are evenly worn (thank god i got the alignment when i did or they would have worn unevenly)
i measured from the middle top portion of the fender to the ground (not to the bottom of the wheel) |

Just for kicks, goes w/o saying, and sure it was done, check the tower strut brace & strut mounts in the engine compartment. OK? All nuts at torque? Everything stock? Suspension arms. Assuming all arms straight and undamaged, were bushings/balls visually inspected w/o any work, or was there more? With your mileage, you might want to retorque suspension nuts/bolts. There's a technique to that. Hesitate to mention, but did anyone look at the subframe? . Last edited by CALWATERBOY; 06-23-2012 at 12:18 AM.. |
