E90 Spoiler Install
I bought a new spoiler from Morristown BMW online and I received it today. I washed the car and cleaned the surface of any debris. The spoiler came with one strip of tape. I added a strip of 3M auto molding tape with the red plastic backing on the spoiler. It didn't seem too sticky. In fact, it kept coming off my spoiler during the install. The opposite side was a different story. So I continue to install it on the car. Everything came out okay, except the corners that are needed to be bent in; the tape just kept popping off.
My thought is there has to be better tape out there or I'm going to need to glue it. Does anyone have any tips or thoughts? I'd prefer not to pay to have it put on.

is the spoiler is OE then the fitment should be perfect.
the tape is available from BMW and should be good enough 3M have different high strength fixing tapes available.

Well it all depends on the temperature you are working in. That redbacked tape is the best for your project. If it is cold it will not stick, if it was ever really cold even if you heat it back up it will not seem quite as sticky as it should be. Also make sure you clean both surfaces; spoiler and trunk deck with alcohol prior to placing the tape, this will clean all wax and debris from surfaces.

Temp is about 40ish. It will be in 50s this weekend, I could try again then. The BMW tape isn't enough. I tried that as well, and it only keeps the top part on the trunk and does nothing for the corners.

I wouldn't attempt using 3M unless its much warmer. I plan on putting a spoiler on in a few weeks. I'll take it into a shop and still heat up the area with a heat gun before and after.

You think a heat gun on the 3m tape would help? I think someone asked about the spoiler. It's an OEM fiberglass spoiler from Morristown BMW.

Not directly on the tape, but I would think that it would help heating up the trunk area to stick better. I lost the end of a spoiler on my 330 since the tape was not stuck well enough.
