Leasing and Dinan

I read over my lease agreement today and there is absolutely nothing that would prevent me from flashing my 335i. In fact, there is nothing there that prevents someone from tuning their vehicle either. The closest provision just states you must return your car to stock before turning it in.

Please note this is my opinion on my lease and cannot and should not be applied universally across the board - everyone should read their own leases. Also this has no bearing on warranty implications. I'm just trying to point out if you actually take the time to read your lease, which I finally did, it may be a lot less restrictive than you would think. Too bad I only have x months left on my lease and don't think the Dinan flash is really worth it at this point.

My next project...sit down and read over the warranty.

Just flashed my 335xi, and it's leased. Nobody at the dealership had any issues with it whatsoever, and I made sure to run the idea past everyone I could. As long as you return it to stock condition at turn in, should be no worries.

so if you pay 2k to have it flashed with dinan, at the end of your lease you need to spend another 2k to have it flashed back to original form? if so that stinks

No you just pay for the labor to flash it to stock, which while it stinks not as bad as the 2k. Actually the 2k is for the flash, there is labor on top of that.
