When I saw the white Lotus Esprit? emerge from the sea in the James Bond movie, I always fancied one of those; earlier than that I fancied a Lotus Elan when at that time I could only afford a mini 850.

Now I really want my 330D, and this time I am going to get it

If we are talking products from Mr Chapman, there can be only one:

Have you ever driven one of these? Mindbending.

Cars I've always wanted, realistically... (isn't that a bit relative? oh well..)

in no particular order:

1960 Aston Martin DB4 Series III (might as well start with the dream car first)
1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante
1966/7 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII BJ8 Phase 2
Lotus Esprit S1 (from The Spy Who Loved Me)
Audi ur-quattro
1968 MGB Roadster MkII
1966 Corvette C2 Stingray
1968 Camaro SS
BMW E30 M3 Evo

Cars I've had (in order)

1997 Fiat Punto 90 (silver - company car)
1997 Fiat Punto 75 (horrible puke green - company car, after the silver one lunched its engine on the M25)
1992 VW Golf MkII Gti 8v (atlas grey - incredible fun)
1998 Audi A3 1.8T (black - had it three weeks, had it nicked, then found it burnt out on the M42)
1998 Audi A4 1.8T (dolphin grey)
2000 Audi A6 1.8T (silver)
2001 Audi TT Roadster 225 (black)
1998 Lotus Elise Mk1 (silver - best handling car ever)
2002 Audi A6 2.5TDi Quattro 180
2002 BMW 330i Convertible (E46 - sapphire black)

Absolutely but its a hard concept to get across objectively Didn't want a list that read a little like the Top Gear top 10 lap times list...

Had forgotten about GT6 .. got as far as going to look at one, fortunately head won the argument.

I looked at loads of them, but my Dad persuaded me it was nuts.

I'm sorry I never bought one, but it would have been a pointless purchase. I was a student and it would have been off the road most of the time due to lack of funds.

They are probably few and far between now. I haven't seen one (or a spitfire) on the road for years.

My ex brother in law had a Hermes tuned Europa, it hardly ever ran it was so unreliable.

My father in law had a GT6 but that met its end when he rolled it!

Regards

Chris

I still want one now - no sensible reason why I should like it, but I do.

Just remember to keep a few extra quid aside if you decide to purchase your dream car!
