Hi all,

A friend of mine needs new OEM springs. I wasn?t too sure so I?ll ask here. Are the OEM springs for 2009 e93 335i the same as an e92 335i?

Can he throw on some OEM e92 springs?

His issue is that his e93 looks to be slammed from the rear on OEM springs. One side is much much lower than the other. Changed the shocks, issue still persists.

Any advice?

The springs will fit, but will not be perfect match. The fronts will be fine, but the rears will not be ideal. If his car is much lower on one side, he could have broekn spring, worn spring pad, worn shock mount, or any or all of these.

Rear weight distribution on the e93 appears to be the cause for this issue.

Only real solution would be coilovers as you can dial things how you want.

A quick search will help you find this is a common complaint of other owners.

Whelp, shocks won't ever help as springs determine ride height, absent aftermarket adjusters.

So. Exactly what springs does he have on it now? OEM springs shouldn't lower the vehicle unless....there's an aftermarket spring mount, but having difficulty seeing how that would be practical.

Um....evidently it isn't....yow!

What's the ride height, all wheels?


Wheel normal ride height

Ride height is measured from the top of the wheel well fender flange to the bottom of the wheel rim.

Front Stock Values:

16" wheel -- 22.99 in -- 584 mm
17" wheel -- 23.58 in -- 599 mm
18" wheel -- 24.09 in -- 612 mm
19" wheel -- 24.60 in -- 625 mm

Rear Stock Values:

16" wheel -- 22.24 in -- 565 mm
17" wheel -- 22.83 in -- 580 mm
18" wheel -- 23.35 in -- 593 mm
19" wheel -- 23.82 in -- 605 mm
