Thumbs up BMW MSRP Negotiable? 1st time buyer here.Searched.

Hello,

This will be my first time buying a BMW. The BMW 330i will be for my Fiancée. I have a 06 Honda S2000 and wouldn't have it any other way but she loves the 330i.

My question:

Are BMW MSRP negotiable?

My experience:

BMW salesman always say that the MSRP on these "HIGH END" vehicles are not negotiable and that you pay what is on the window. Is this true? It was the same lingo with Mercedes when my parents and family members bought their Mercedes. Maybe we didn't know any better?

It's always the..." If you don't buy it, some one else will" reply and high horse attitude.

The 330i that we want:

06 Black Sapphire Metallic
Terra w/Dakota Leather Upholstery
Comfort Access
Premium Pkg
Sports pkg
Automatic

MSRP: $43,420.00 before TT&L

Can I deal on this price? Can I get it any lower? I searched on here and it looks as though some has gotten discounts but there was no actual numbers given.

Will I be laughed at if I try to deal? Have some gotten free oil changes for life?

Please advise. YES, we know about the 335i but she doesn't need extra HP.

Thank you,

Mike

The 330i isn't being produced anymore. It might be hard to find the exact options you want on the dealers lot. If you find somnething close to your preferences you probably could negotiate a deal because dealers are "making room" for the 2007's . If you order a 2007 335 or 328 there probably will not be much room for negotiation. And you will have to wait for a 2007.

I think in the next few months, dealers will be easy to negociate on 325's and 330's. They will be replaced by 328 and 335 in 2007 so they need to get rid of them.

If they don't have the one that you are looking for on the lot, then it will be really hard to negotiate a price. If there is one in the area, you might be able to get some money off of it. I'm thinking maybe $1-2k tops. If you have to order the car, then chances are that you might get some floor mats, keychains, and other junk. Oil changed are included in the free maintanance program. When I ordered mine, there was no negotiation in the price. If there is a car that you do find on the lot, there is a lot more room to haggle on the price because they want to move that product---if they don't, they pay finance charges on it after a certain amount of time. If a dealer has the attitude that the price is on the window, then try a different dealership; however, when you sit down and talk real numbers....I'm sure that the price on the window (assuming the car is in stock) is never the final price, even if you can get $500 off! Good Luck!

It seems like $1500 under MSRP a lot of people get. Try 500 over invoice and see what happens. Hopefully you have more than 1 BMW dealer in your area.
You can always fly into AZ and buy mine http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26429

if you're already in the mid 40's with purchase price you may want to hold out for the 335

I got $300 over invoice for mine, it had to be ordered but they were willing to work out a deal. Try and see what can it hurt especially if it they have the car you want.

The car is in stock. The exact one we want is on the lot. I know maintanance is included for 4 years but has anyone ever gotten free oil changes for life? I hear about these type of deals for domestics and such but I am pretty sure BMW can do it also.

I'm such a newb to this site. Forgive me. My post was moved under this forum and above it has everything we wanted to know. Thanks guys. But please do advise.

I didn't know the 330i was going to be replaced. Will the body style stay the same for the sedan in 07?

Thanks,,
Mike

up to 300 hp from 255 with much improved torque

test drive a 335 coupe if you want to see what the new motor's about

If you're on an in stock '06,get the real invoice price, give them a small profit and stick to your price. They're on the turn and earn program, they'll get another when they sell one.Or just do an ED on an "07 328 for pretty close to the same money and you build it exactly how you want......good luck

Dealers in Houston may be different, but I would imagine you would have a lot of room to negotiate on a 330i simply due to the 335i coming soon.

I placed the order for my car literally a month after the E90 330i was released to the public and I got $1500 off MSRP with no more than 15 seconds of negotiating (Northern NJ). Granted, my car had a lot of options which put my final price at almost $2000 over invoice.

Since the car you want is sitting on the lot, it costs them money the longer it sits. Try working a deal of invoice + $xxx and see where it goes from there.

Thanks for the replys guys. We are looking into the 335i sedan now. My Fiancee doesn't like the fact that the 330i will be replaced. I think the 330i will be more than enough for her. I guess it's more vroom for me than in the 335i.

Price is def nego on BMW's and EVERY car for that matter!

Especially in Houston, you have several dealers to choose from. Just be patient and hold out for the best deal. There shouldn't be a problem especially since they will have to order the 2007 at this point the way you want anyway. If you're going to spend $43k you may as well spend a little more and get the 335i.

If you decide to go with the 330i, you should be getting it for INVOICE or less at this time of year.

If the 330i is good enough for her, I imagine the 07 328i would be too and it's less expensive than the 335.
