Welcome!

Haha, the side that's "guaranteed" not to pop off is the other side, not the intercooler side :P
i'm not to particularly concerned with the default maps it uses... the gains are there. when the accessport has all the tables i want, i'll pick one of those up (hint hint e85) but honestly i would like to see some open source development here as the rom has obviously been cracked.

custom tuning is my forte though. i come from the evo world and have tuned most of the evos in DFW with open source once i see the best option for custom tuning, i'll be all over it.

I don't see the open source tuning option ever opening to these cars. There's just way too many models of cars, ROM versions, DME revisions, transmission options and even different bus communication methods to contend with. From a self-tuner standpoint, things were much easier to work with when I was tuning GM LSx cars.

There are only three or four major BMW flash-tune vendors out there-- it would really be something significant if the RSA keys were leaked to a tuner community.

i think cobb has shown that those differences are minor at best. sure there are a lot of different ROMs, but they are all going to contain the same critical data for tuning, and a slew of other options that can be common between ROMs, or vehicle specific.

once you hack one, the rest fall like dominos unless they are completely different (in the case of the serial/CAN for 2007/2008+).

dump ROM; dump stock ROM; file diff; and a translation...the hard part is the mapping of the rom to the things you want to change..

I'm just window shopping. Every now and then I see wheels I like, but there's other stuff I'd like to get first! Get 'em, they'll look great on your car!

He's lying Dan! He's secretly talking to Moe and he's going to show up at the meet with wheels!

Anyone in DFW want a system? Im selling mine that i just bought a few weeks ago, i dont really want it as bad as i thought i did lol. Its one new kicker CVR 10 in a ported turbo bass probox with an MTX jackhammer amp. Also comes with bass knob. It was purchased new and professionally installed a few weeks ago, i have the receipts for it still. Looking to get $300 for everything, also comes with the speaker wires and battery/negative cables. If interested PM me.

That thing is a little out of control. It is 30% normal cars, 50% slightly modified cars and 20% cars you want to see. As I left, I saw a Lambo and a Ferrari parked in the back of Classic's service lot b/c they couldn't get in. But in the main are there were 4 stock vw bugs.

That's exactly why I prefer RUF Cars and Bikes. Much finer pedigrees and keeps the junk out. Also less cluttered as well.

Tomato
