2011 335xdrive with bilsteins and dinan!!

Hi all,
Finally since owning this car from 2015 with 9k miles have refreshed the suspension at 70k miles with dinan and bilsteins!

It feels awesome and I love how the car sits now. I haven't really driven it much as I picked it up today just local stop and go traffic- it feels of course bumpier but at the same time stiff and responsive compared to the wallowing floaty it's was- he showed me the stock shocks they were completely shot , compressed them wouldn't rebound at all- and the springs looked ok except one had some bad rust and he said it would of cracked eventually - I did thr top and bottom new mounts and bushings too

I didn't take the best before and after: before

I noticed they left the strut cap off one of the struts! That really annoys me, I think I'm gonna have to take it back

Good choice. I love Bilsteins because they can make the ride firmer and more controlled.

Can you post the details of exactly which parts you got? How's the performance been after driving on them longer?

I'm around 110k miles on my '11 335xi sedan and the front struts are shot. So I'm considering getting some sort of suspension upgrade done instead of replacing. I'm looking to gain some firmness/performance, if it can come at a minimal cost to ride quality (Michigan roads are trash) and not a lot of extra money. Sorry I'm a total novice at this. I searched but wasn't able to find a lot for the xi. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

I just did my 335xi coupe and about to do my wife's 335xi sedan this weekend. The thing that drives me insane is no mentions of OTHER things that totally make sense to do ..like upper/lower rubber pads that go around the front strut.

31-33-6-767-500 Upper pad (~$8?)
31-33-6-764-372 Lower pad (~$8?)
You need two of each.

As for the the top mount, it wasn't -necessary- but I noticed a bit of wear so I figured why not ...which turned into a surprise list of stuff

31-30-6-772-226 upper mount gasket (~$6)
31-33-6-775-097 upper mount (~$60)
31-33-1-110-196 dust sealing gasket (~$4)
31-30-6-763-966 washer (~$9)
Again, you need two of these "sets"

That aside, ECS has packages you can buy, at different levels, and has -most- of everything you need so look there at least for part numbers - but there's always something additional you'll probably want to add. I have been finding my local dealership has the small stuff, in stock, at really good prices. I know right? Worse case, its 2 days out.

Cost wise, if you just do the struts (with those rubber pads) ... $300? A pretty involved refresh I'd say expect to start around $1000 (lots of new hardware, shocks, struts, bushings -- it would be amazing), plus another 250 in tools if you don't have them (spring compressor). You can rent those though. If you go 'not racing' all out, 2-4?.

I did koni yellows because the bilstein's weren't in stock. I'm about to do koni reds (more relaxed) on the wife's car.

The ones meant for lowering springs b8 which makes me wonder if I had to since The dinan springs aren't that much lower - here is another pic I like it , I wish the front was a little more tucked in height wise but handing and ride is nice except a little bouncy but maybe my perception since my previous shocks were completely shot
