It's been fun keeping up with all of you and your cars. I can't deal with my 335d's problems anymore. Sitting on the side of I-95 with a pregnant wife and broken down car for two hours did it for me. Great memories with this car.

I always ask for a copy of what the dealer is billing BMW of NA for warranty work. Last night my wife and I added up all the work done to my vehicle totaling $21,200 dollars. That's right! This does not include the services or wear items. Now with the transmission faults- who knows how much more that would add to the total.

One week the DDE is being replaced, the next week the fuel injectors, DPF, EGR cooler, etc etc. I'm going over to Carmax during my lunch break and selling the POS. I don't even care about the loss. I'll get a refund on the extended warranty as well. I'm sad because this was a car I enjoyed a lot and would have loved keeping around for many years. My 550 had 186K miles and my e46 330 had 241K. Sad my 335D is only at 48.

I blame BMW of Sterling for majority of the faults and give BMW of Fairfax props for resolving most of them.

Thank God my x5D has not been in the shop for anything my 335D has been.

Will I buy another BMW diesel? I dont know? My x5D has been fantastic to me.

I understand all the emissions related issues with this car, but transmission!? What the heck?
I'm going to get a tune and keep the EGR valve closed for as long as possible!

I hope I don't go down the same road as you, I have warranty till end of 2015.

Lemon law varies per state. IIRC, in MD, vehicle needed be lemoned within the first 24 months of ownership (and under 18K miles) and a total amount of 30 days and/or four visits to the dealer for the same problem. Judging by the MY and the mileage, (t)his 335d would not qualify under the MD lemon law..

Lemon Law coverage makes all the difference. I tried to get a buyback on my 335d due to the repeated injector failures and unsafe failure event I experienced; but since it happened just after my state's lemon period BMW declined.

I'm afraid someone will have to suffer a serious accident before BMW will listen. Until then, it's buyer beware.

Elester12, I'd love to know about your sale. I've had trade-in offers about $10,000 less than I could sell it for myself. Hope you do better than that!
