For Sale : E92 M3 Milltek Backbox
Hi Guys
She who must be obeyed - isn't keen on the Extra noise from the back box so its come off................. I think its sounds F***in AWESOME - by thats by the by! Hence we have for sale ONE Milltek Backbox for E92 Coupe M3(it may well fit the M3 conv or saloon - but PLEASE CHECK yourself - i've no idea!) I have just bought it from a longterm M3Cutters member - who had had it from new and done 3,000 miles with it on his car your car/exhaust does NOT need modifying to fit it - just clamps on(using the original BMW clamps) in place of your existing backbox Condition is very good Takes 2 guys(me and my mate) about 1.5 to 2 hours to fit £400 - would prefer collection or will courier for a reasonable fee I was quoted £950 by Demontweeks for a new one - no-one else actually had stock! email max@cottamguitars.co.uk

yeah - not worth falling out over.......... and missing out on my monthly shag
the womans perspective was : i've not spent £30k on a car - to have it sound like an 18 year olds Corsa!

and i specifically went for the Milltek as it is "regarded" as being one of the quieter aftermarket back boxes available
unlike some of the "race" backboxes that can be heard in the next county!!!

Jacobs??? crackers?? Knackers??.............
Having had the original back on since Tuesday - i do actually prefer the stock sound............... less intrusive, and less in yer face I listened to the Mrs blast off down the road in it last night - and it still sounds GREAT................. just not "in yer face" GREAT!

thanks for the forward................. but see post #6
we tend to do alot of round town driving as we both work very locally 'er indoors objected to the bassy intrusion at tickover and low revs - i think she liked it when booted - but you don't do that much booting round town her statement was "if i wanted to spend 30k on a car that sounded like a boy racers Corsa - i'd of bought a boy racers Corsa and saved 29k!" Max

Just to throw some info into the Milltek discussion.
My Golf exhaust is a Milltek from the Turbo back (so Sports Cat too) and it sounds just a little fruitier than stock. If it wasn't all about the extra power as well, I would be dissapointed with the spend for pure noise if I had bought it new. That said, it IS nicer now I have learned to appreciate it and it is one of the few aftermarket Golf exhausts that has ZERO drone at motorway speeds etc, so all in all I think Milltek are a brand I now trust more than I did before the Golf.
