I'm yet to try the more expensive waxes (Victoria and DoDo Juice come to mind).

Excellent cleaning advice already given!

Defo go for a drying towel, and a good 'in between; paint protector is Meguiars Quick Detail. Once you have towel dried the car, spray a mist on each panel and wipe off. It is clear, so no residue! Leaves a lovely streak free shine and ecourages the water beading. Use it all over the car, even the glass and lights etc. I have used it for a few years now and swear by the stuff. Buy it oin 5l bottles and dispense it into a smaller trigger spray for use.

PS Lovely car and the aero kit really suits it

I planned on getting the Dodo stuff but RaceGlaze #55 came better recommended by specialist. Smells fantastic to. Reminds me of the novelty erasers you used to get at school

To the OP, I also suggest getting some latex gloves to protect your hands when using some of the chemicals I mentioned. The Bilberry is quite acidic so you dont want to get it on your skin.

Car looks great Dave, congratulations! I'd say because you are going to be polishing by hand, a good starting point would be by claying the car with a soft clay bar such as sonus green. I'd then go over the car with Autoglym's super resin polish (note this only masks imperfections, the hint is in the name) and then finish off with extra gloss protection.

Shampoo wise I prefer the Duragloss shampoo (smells great too). I also recommend Dodo Juice shampoos which are super concentrated and have excellent cleansing abilities (a bottle of this stuff goes a long way).

The expensive waxes are well worth the money, but in my opinion everything is in the prep.
One of the best value for money waxes is the FK1000p (circa £20), you could finish the whole thing off with this... provides excellent protection and tight beading.

Hope this helps!

P.S. toxicnerve - you guide is excellent.

The Meg's stuff is used neat - a couple of trigger sprays across a panel is plenty to give it a good sheen and remove all water marks.

Very true. Your car is very nice but would look so much better when properly clean.

If I were you I would consider getting a pro to do an initial detail to remove most of the imperfections and apply a good few coats of your chosen wax. Many will advise you and let you use your own wax.

After that it will just be a case of maintaining the finish achieved, and never, never be tempted to give it a quick drive through wash. My car doesn't get washed till I can do the job right.

lots of people are saying good things about LTT Leather care products for you interior.
