Do you use a lot of product?
Or are you the old fashion water + soap + wax + vacuum?
Thinking about buying a "kit" It's supposedly complete, but costs hundredS of dollars.

My opionion - depends on if you are putting your car in shows every weekend or it's your very clean daily driver.
However a 'kit' that includes every chemical you will ever need might not make sense if you don't need 1/2 of them. You might be fine just buying the products you need/use to keep your car the way you want.

Even for weekly washes I still use a minimum of 6 different products (not counting microfibers, brushes, waffleweaves)
however, I think I may just have an addiction to chemicalguys.com and detailedimage.com. |

I easily have over $1000 worth of supplies but I recently helped a friend pick out some stuff and he spent a couple hundred.
I like trying new products and I've figured out what works for me. Here's how I see things: Must Haves 2 buckets with Grit Guards Good wash medium (sponge or mitt whichever your prefer) PH Neutral Car Wash Wax or Sealant Quick Detailer Tire/Trim Product All Purpose Cleaner MF Drying Towel A few plush MF for waxing A few MF for dirty job Interior Product (Dash and Plastics) Leather Cleaner/Conditioner Glass Cleaner So that's quite a few products already, but this is a base of what it would take to keep a car clean and looking pretty good Nice to Haves Clay Bar Clay Lube Wheel Cleaner (many would prob put this as a must have, but you can use soap and water, it's just way less effective) Metal Polish (exhaust) Boars Hair Wheel Brush Boars Hair detail brushes Horse Hair Leather Brush Machine Polishing Porter Cable 7424XP Range of pads Compound Polish Final Polish Glaze Sealant I purposely didn't give product names because this was more about types of things needed. In my view "hand polishes" are a waste of money. Unless you are using a machine you aren't going to remove swirls. |

True, but I haven't tried any Megs products so I can't really speak on anything about it. I just wouldn't want him to get in the habit of buying things from Walmart, especially like drying towels, MF towels, etc.
