Question NC Members - got 2 ?'s

Hey everyone! 2 Questions for the North Carolina members:

1. I've 'd for this, seen some speculation but haven't seen a definitive answer
In regards to a catless downpipe & n55 engines; since there is no 'fix' for our engines, when using the Cobb AP (currently on Stage 1 Aggressive) can we pass the yearly inspection or are you guys going back to stock before getting it done?!
(for those not in NC, the state only checks via OBD, no sniffer)

2. Are any of the Triangle/Triad Dealers...uhh...mod friendly?

thanks for that!

On the DP side, may have to go catted (Wagner or Cobb) I guess...

You would need to re install the stock DP and turn your tune off to set readiness codes for OBD inspection. There is no DP fix for N55's.

Catted DP are not a 100% guarantee to set readiness codes on a N55. The dime is very sensitive to O2 faults regarding the cat.

You don't need readiness. NC allows one monitor not to be ready.

First off I'm from Va but my parents live in Nc so the thread title interested me. I have similar issues hear as deleting any cats would fail emissions. My solution was to find a shop that didn't care and was just happy to have business. They didn't have a lift that could raise a sports car so they didn't inspect the exhaust and no programmer for codes.

There are no sniffers her only obd or visual.

Each place is a gamble but $16 X a few is better for me than removing the dp's. I was lucky the first place I went to was a 3 hour wait. Drove 3 blocks and they took me right away.

Not a guarantee but a chance...
