TPMS warning light won't reset.
Started up the car this morning and got a red low tire pressure light (and a yellow icon) on the dash. Originally had pressure set at 39 psi and one tire was at 3 lbs the other at 32-33psi. TPMS system worked as designed since I was 8 psi lower than the setting. Inflated all tires back to 39 psi and the warning lights did not go off. Tried to reset TPMS pressure and it won't let me do it because it says "low tire pressure". Last 2 times I went in for service the SAs wanted to do an ECU update that they said had to do with problems with the TPMS system. Since I had no problems , I declined the update. Obviously, I could just take it in the the dealer for service ,but there just is no convenient time for me to do this in the next 2 weeks and since i know that the tire pressures ar fine, I am not inclined to do such. The SA told me that it is not unusual to have the have the tech reset the light. Can i do this on my own? I would appreciate some advice. TIA

you should be able to reset it via the i-drive menu, if you have it? if not, refer to the manual. just did this yesterday since mine was in the garage for a few days

hold down the button for a few seconds when you reset it. that should do the trick. the same thing happened to me. however, afterwards you will need to drive a little bit before everything is all set.

I have the exact same problem. I can't reset the system and it just started happening a few days ago. I plan to go in for the ECU update, but like you, it will be at least a week until I have the time. It looks like there's a Service Bulletin for this (depends on your build date):
http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/bulletins/...p/B360207g.htm Although the light is annoying, just make sure you keep your tires inflated until you have time to get it into the shop.

What about unplugging the battery and resetting the ECU?

bsamoul, that might work, but I'm hoping the shop will do a software update or something so that the error doesn't keep happening again. For now, putting up with the warning light isn't that big of a deal.

Well, once it's reset, it might happen again, because what I hear, the 335 software update makes the car slower?

Good point about slower after the update; I'd forgotten about this. Hmmm.

I checked the offending tire this morning and it was down 3 lbs after 3 days. Not sure if this is worth replacing the tire, but it might indicate it's about to go real bad. Anyway, at least the system was doing it's job.

Hi all, I have experienced the same problem tonight (red TPMS warning), I will go and check my tire pressure tomorrow. May any brother here help to tell me what should be the normal tire pressure for a e93 335i with 18" runflat? Thanks.
