N43 / N53 / N54 injector tip o-ring replacement

Is it possible to replace the injector tip o-rings by hand? Removing the existing rings doesn't seem difficult but the special tool to put new ones on looks quite involved. Thanks.

Not possible mate. I tried all sorts trying to get them on by hand it's not possible to get them on properly. I was forced to buy the special swaging tool. It's actually very simple to use.

Use this link to have a look it comes with clear instructions.

This is definitely possible. Use a blade and cut/slice the existing o-ring seal off.

Installing the o-ring by hand is possible also. Just slide the o ring over the injector tip and push 2 sides down at a time. Once on, pinch and squeeze the o ring on all sides for a couple minutes.

Not the correct way to do it but it works.

I've replaced the decoupling elements but I've just reused the teflon rings. When I replace the final 3x injectors I'll revisit the first bank and do a proper job. Thanks for the tips, since I want to do it right I'll pickup the Mr Injector tool.

To compress them equally you could always use one of the caps that come in new injectors as they are designed to keep the seals compressed
