Juice Box Stage 3 ($375) or active autowerke($1200) ?

hello, just got my 09 335 xdrive coupe about a week ago...im looking for some instant HP gains without dropping to much money. Juice Box makes a stage 3 PnP Ecu for $375 that claims 60+ hp gains, that sounds like a great deal is there any known downfalls of this product compared to the very expensive active autowerke or RD sport ecu ($1200-1500). or is there any other cheap options?

Forget about AA - they forgot about updates long ago - as stated above, the only 2 tunes really playing right now are the JB3 and the procede.

The JB3 plug and play is actually $579 - the price you have is for the pinout version - do yourself a favor and get the PNP. The procede is just over a grand and provides some more user adjustment and is easier to update, has logging etc, so if you want that stuff, the procede might be worth the extra dough.

The other option on the horizon are some flashes - the one from GIAC may be promising and not a bad price, put for now the piggybacks are ruling.

I'd go with the ESS flash tune. If you want a piggyback, we carry the JB3. PM me, we can get you hooked up!

Has there been further development on the stage 3 or 4?

For the price and gains, the JB3 is hard to beat - I would wait until you have about 500 miles first before installing the tune.

to each his own... i still have yet to make the decision on which tune to go with but jb3 just seems like a hassle and they dont seem to have as much experience (m3 turbo kits, superchargers etc.)? im no engine tech or tuner pro, thats just what ive come to from reading around. i think these new aa products are gonna have alot of people intrested... dont take my word for it give them a call and ask!?!

they have a deal its $579 for the JB3 but for $100 more you get the dual cone intake combo...is that a nice set of intakes or is their better?

The JB3 and DCI combo price point is fantastic; plus it looks like you also get free shipping. As far as hp gains, I think the BMS DCI is competitive.

In my opinion, the JB3 PNP is anything but a hassle, proven to be safe with great customer service.

From what I've read on here, the JB3 is probably the best bang for buck power, and most ppl don't seem to have issues. And this is coming from someone running a dinan tune....But if you did any aftermarket tune/piggy, I would also invest in a BT scanner to clear any potential error codes that might be thrown.

If all you want to do is clear codes keep the money in your pocket you would have spent for the BT scanner and get a tune that allows you to clear all codes.

Yeah, good idea. Buy a tune from a tuner who will give you a written guarantee that it won't throw any codes.

weather its written or not makes no difference if the code is thrown and youre at the dealer

FYI, map 6/7 as a DD for past 3 weeks has not thrown any codes
