My new F10
Picked it up on Friday
So far, so good - no problems and it has some really nice features. I particularly like the "black panel" dashboard which displays a variety of information in your eye-line (e.g. navigation directions, music playlists etc). The ride is much more compliant than the e92 (probably just down to the tyres) and it's very comfortable. Here's a few pics: The end of rusty hubs? The disc has an (aluminium?) bell: Split screen is good: Office email and SMS in the car:

Nice, I like the look of the new 5, much better than the old one.
The black panel looks funky as well

Looks like a big bus Ian, do you notice the difference sizewise to the E92, both internally and externally?
Nice car and I'd imagine it's a nice place to be,debadged with twin pipes as well My first call would be to Simon at E-Maps (can the ECU be cracked?)

It doesn't feel bigger from the driving seat but it obviously is - doesn't fit on the drive as well as the e92 - danger of banging the door on the wall.
No idea if the 2011 ECU has been cracked.

You can get one of those p-torque tuning box jobbers but the ECUs not been directly written to successfully yet AFAIK.
It looks great - especially as an M sport. I like the colour combo and the new dash looks superb (Finally BMW have moved away from just a bunch of light bulbs and a mid 80s 2 colour LCD...

I'm not 100% sure how the online thing works - you can, for example, send messages to the car withou having the phone even paired so it communicates on its own somehow.
Office Email, calandar, contacts, SMS etc just worked - I din't have to do anything other than pair the BlackBerry.

Really nice motor there xenon - but one thing worries me...
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN?!!! Reckon the F10 has one of the nicest interiors of any car currently on the market and the i-drive actually looks integrated rather than some aftermarket add on. Great about the hubs too - just about to get mine sorted; shockingly corroded! Decided they are a bit big for our needs (would have to be a Touring) but still a great car. Think the next gen 3 series Touring will be of great interest if/when it comes out in Touring form! |

Car looks great - I really like these! Had one last week as a loan car for the day when the M3 went for a service. My only 'concern' was that the steering felt a little detached? Can't quite put my finger on it but it could bug me long term.
The dealer is having a 535D demo car in shortly and am looking forward to a drive of that Business partner at work is just about to order a 520D M-sport with 8 speed sports auto, Prof Nav with telematics, Bluetooth audio, Sun Prot Glass, upgraded 19" alloys, spoiler, etc.... A really nice spec and they are offering some great corporate contract hire deals at the moment. Did you get the service pack? 5 yrs or 60k miles for £400. Enjoy the new car! |
