Anyone running any flash tunes with DPs?
I just had an "oh shit" moment- my inspection is good until 3/17. Really REALLY tempted to do downpipes and get that extra HP...BUT...that O2 sensor warning will probably drive me bat shit.
Have there been any breakthroughs on that front in that regard? How about gains? Do you think I stand to gain, or worse, lose any power? With catted downpipes, will the gains any less, and would the O2 issue be out of the way? I have a DINAN free flow exhaust as well. Thanks guys. Catted downpipes will provide way less power than catless downpipes. I just ordered the 4" AA downpipe and am very excited to finally switch to Map 2, should be a significant amount of power increase and it'll spool faster

Thanks- will definitely take it into consideration. But without something to help with the O2 sensor issues, I think I am starting to remember why I decided not to do it back when.

Fairly sure the only fix for the O2 sensor stuff is a JB4 or Procede. AFAIK Cobb AP doesn't yet clear that code
This is really the main reason I'm keeping my JB4 instead of moving onto Cobb, also the boost over fuel gauge overlay is nice

There is no DP fix yet for N55. You can block seeing the SES light from popping, but any emissions check will fail.
People like me in areas that have emissions check are kind of f'ed until someone can figure out an N55 DP fix. |

I'm not sure about Ohio, but new California cars get a 5-6 year grace period from date of purchase before having to be smogged

if i were you, i would have already pulled the trigger on a catless downpipe.
i too live in nj and bought my car new. i do not have to get inspected until 2017 (if i even keep the car that long) i have the bms tune and bms downpipe. it clears the codes so you never have to worry. i am sure by 2017 if there isn't a downpipe fix, and i still have the car, i will just swap the downpipes out with the stock catted one for inspection. just pull the trigger, you will be very happy. |

Hey bad-
I would love to, but the O2 hassles just aren't worth it. Was hoping there would be some fix for it, but looks to be only with the JB4 =/ |

I live in socal... smog test not till 2017... less than two months in, I put in an AR Catless DP... couldnt be happier... yes you'll get the SES light...but I upgraded my PPK to JB4 then COBB... both of them get rid of the SES light... its not a DP Fix and even if it was here in Cali the smog test involves the use of a sniffer. Meaning i would fail even with a DP Fix... however COBB AP is badass... a very professional tune...with JB4 although more powerful, it felt and looked like a wire hack each time I open my hood to clean things up...
this is just me... I like things that I can easily revert back to OEM. Once Stage 2+ from COBB comes out I will get a present once more... I still have my JB4 S2 ... I like to collect things...LOL |

Even catted dp will trigger an ses light... The N55 is much more sensitive then the N54 was...

Well NJ is already one of the most toxic places on earth, can't imagine a few catless DPs making it any worse |

Do it! All you will do is throw a light on your dash/code. It's not too big of a deal, I drove around for awhile like that on stock boost. You get used to it, the benefits heavily outweigh the cons.
