Thursday's "Muppet of the day" award goes to
The driver of the Mugen Civic type R that wanted to play crash test dummy (and wipe out the worlds oldest surviving E-Type Jag, as well as some innocent pedestrian's) at Goodwoods moving motorshow today.

The funniest thing is the (literally) hundreds of people saying "Yeah, accident waiting to happen". Why? Becuase one needs to drive a car within 10 feet of walking people? One doesn't [b]have]/b] to drive like a bell end. Why is it any different to negotiating a high street or any other area where cars are close to pedestrians?

It was a moving show - MOTP could take out the cars and drive up the hill.
Supposedly this guy was about to go out on a run, fainted at the wheel and (in the words of Arnie in Commando) all f*ckin' hell broke loose. My guess is the salesman probably told the poor bugger driving that Mugen wanted £38k for a breathed-on civic and that caused him to faint.

Not sure it's accurate to say that it wiped out the E-Type , but yes proper end of bellness. Wonder if that Honda was 'one of the fastest Civics ever built' and it caught him out...

I was up the other end of goodwood when it happened, saw the ambulance go by. Cracking day though, I really enjoyed it and will be back there tomorrow at 8.

I was there a few years ago, and saw a S Type R jag being driven 'enthusiastically' trying to set the same pace a bright orange 997 Carerra S that was going hard. In an attempt to poke it sideways he gave it a bootfull on the entrance to a corner, but instead of going into a beautiful drift he understeered straight into the hay bales at the edge of the track and ruined the whole side of the car. Awesome fail.

...in fairness, if he fainted, he can't really be blamed whole-heartedly. As Sheps says it was probably Honda's fault for telling his the price

Yeah, from what I heard he wasn't a member of public but was the demonstration driver and he had a fit/fainted at the wheel, so actually not quite so funny....unfortunately will inevitably bring into question the whole concept...
