Correct, I think it is September 2008 and after that is DCT, newer idrive etc.
Marcs335 - DCT shifter is different to the step.

So I'm having problems with the JB4 piggy back unit. Mis-firing. Im going to take it out. Anyone else had this problem? It's turned me off tunes all together. I would hate to damage my car. It only plays up with the tune on. Standard mode it works perfect. Easy fix = rip it out!

dude a little info goes a long way.

1. is this happening ALL the time, or on the track after a couple of laps?
2. how many k's
3. how many k's on the plugs
4. how many k's on the coil packs

i had an issue the first time i went to the track, but quickly worked out (with a little help ) that a new set of plugs and coil packs and all good.

A splash of meth never hurts either.

My car has done 40000kls and 4yrs old and had procede v4 and v5 and now V5 REV2.5 and the car has not misfired in that time, the new 2.5 is so smooth even my wife commented on how smooth the car was.
Spark plugs replaced but nothing else.
Misfires seem to be very common, but usually spark plugs or coils.

Yup check these two mate. A good majority of the midfire issues can be resolved by simply changing a spark plug or coil pack

I'm meeting Marc tomorrow night to take the JB4 out at his request... I'll also read the codes so we can find out what the issue is.

I find it a big difference between the old rev2 and rev2.5 which is the same as rev3
Big difference in low down torque, the car just takes off screaming the rear tyres and i noticed changing from 1st to 2nd auto box the car farts between gears, never used to.
And also very very smooth.
Well worth the $495 compared to rev2a and 2b.
Plus you can run the latest maps.

the aggressive maps peak boost in mid range will be a lot higher then the normal maps thus you get that feeling.

So for process of elimination. Which spark plugs are recommended?
Also, do I need to order the coil pack from BMW?

So #1 BMW Australia's customer then eh Pavo ?

I am sure Stuart can hook you up if not there are myriads of US dealers that can sell them to you for a fraction of the price!

Thanks mate!

I don't know what I want to do now.
The talk I had yesterday with the gentleman that put it on the dyno concerned me.

The figure below is with [NO TUNE]

Below picture is the second run with [FULL TUNE] - You will see where it starts to miss. (Obviously no KW's where recorded)
