min requirements are 94 for map 5 and above on the JB3, 91 for map 3. I prefer to run 94 in the summer and 91 in the winter

Small Ethanol content doesnt have any effect on performance. This debate has been beaten to death about 5 times in the last month alone.

PC/Sunoco 94 since 2007 in my E92 with JB3 up to 7 and GIAC S1 without problem. Tried Shell 91 for a few times and noticed better MPG on long trips that's all. I'm sure you'll be fine with either.

I find the car feels smoother with Shell V-Power, but when using a boost controller tune without timing such as JB3/4/+ or SSTT, then the higher 94 octane is highly advised for detonation protection, especially in the summer months.

makes sense since gas enhanced with ethonol burns faster than without.

Shell v-power 91 for me since delivery. Ethanol free and airmiles, seems like a win win which is why I use it.

Yep...Sunoco and Petro has merged. Therefore most petro stations will now carry 94
