e90 exhaust pipe diameter (right before muffler)

anyone know what the pipe diameter is for this part? right before the muffler?

2.5 inches? 2.75? 3?

Not sure if its reflected in the pic, but it would be for a 2006 325i.

I thought I measured about 2.75" on my performance exhaust. No harm in going larger though.

is it dual walled after the cats? probably it's close to 2.5" ID, however after the merge/cats it's not going to hurt to go a little bigger.

It is 63.5mm / 2.5" OD coming into the back of the stock muffler (and into the back of the PE muffler)
