Continentals on April delivery E90

Just picked up my e90 335xi at BMW Welt yesterday. Was pleased to see it was delivered with Continentals and not Bridgestones. I am assuming that the tires on my car will be the same as others in the pipeline so is this should be a good sign for anyone expecting a delivery. Drove 9 hrs in the rain today from Munich through Italy and was amazed by how quiet it was. Just engine and a bit of wind noise over 80, little or no tire drone and a very nice ride. Also pleased by how comfortable the seats were - no sport, no power lumbar, and no back ache or numbness either. Had to keep it reined in due to break in, but the effortless torque got me out of the way of a few pinches with speeding, lane hogging trucks. Man, I am loving this car!

Congratulations on the new car! Don't forget to take some pictures of the car and the ED road trip!

As for the Continentals, BMW has been using these for some time now. My 2007 (June production) came with the Continentals as well. I think they changed over to the Continentals after the mid-2007 production vehicles.

In any case, enjoy the ride!

Bridgestones also November 2007 ED - seems to depend on model and some randomness what you get

Ahh, my bad. Should have clarified a bit. The OP is referring to the all-season Continental ContiProContact SSR tires that come with the 17" wheels, not the 18" sport wheels. Those still come with the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's. The Continentals replaced the horrendous Bridgestone Turanza EL42's that came with earlier model E9x as all-season tires, which were prone to cupping and awful road noise.

Hope that makes more sense.

Don't quite know if that's true... I have seen 2008's with the Turanza's. My co-worker has a 2008 328xi with Turanza's and my 2007 328i has the Continentals. If they completely changed over to Continentals for the all seasons maybe it was since January (his car was delivered in December).

Congrats! Make sure to post some pics

I took delivery of my car begining of April. I have the 17" Conti's. w/ ZSP

I heard some things good, some things not so good about the Bridgestones, but will never know! My A4 had Conti's all season (non RFT) and they were great.

Oops, I should have clarified that I am on 17" all-seasons, no sport, no 18". I mentioned the Contis because all the E90s on the dealer lots in February were Bridgestones. Also should have posted in the right forum but hey, I blame the wine...
