Just got to work after dropping off Laura's car at CCC. The facility and service so far has been great. Matt gave me the nickle tour of the place and talked to Danny about the car. Looking forward to the end result.

u could have done all of that at a DIY for a fraction of the cost. we've had the door ding guy, paint chip guy, and curb rash guy fix a bunch of people's rides.

True..but well, what can I say, I didn't want to wait for the 14th They are taking care of all of it and the quote that I got was 40% less than at Curry's, so I'm not complaining.

Ok, just got the ride looked over and I need some advise on the following jobs:

1. Power Steering pump replacement was the original request. However, they found that the high pressure line is starting to leak down by the rack and would like to remedy this. While doing this they have to remove the belts and so they want to replace the drive belt tensioners and idler pulleys. So Pump, High Pressure Line, both Tensioner Pulleys, the Idler Pulley and a power steering fluid flush. All this for $1450. $555 just for the pump replacement. Don't know too much about the price point on the parts other than the pump, so not sure what to make of this.

2. The brake pads are worn but not worn enough to fail safety inspection. (Just passed in January) If I get the OEM brake kit from Tischer, is it do-able as a DIY? They want to replace the brake pads, rotors for around $1300. I think this is too much. (??) I might do this as a DIY.

So, what do you all think?

I can't speak much to the first item, but changing rotors and pads is definitely a DIY. parts alone will probably be $1000 for both front and rear brake pads, rotors, and sensors (M car rotors are about $200/corner). Them charging $1300 sounds about right since it'll probably be at least 3-4 hrs of labor.

I'd post this over on the NCC site too b/c you'll get some good answers.

To get an idea about how much the parts are, check Tischer's website.
