I believe it is beacuse I have a nissan warranty, but I got hell another time for having a CP and they stated it was causing smoking issues....come to find out (might be coincedence) but I smoked the mechanics subaru and he must have been butt hurt LOL!!

Are they hard to swap yourself? I could invest in a floor-jack and some stands....

Those are some really good pictures! Just need to save up a little bit more to cover installation as I am not mechanically inclined to do such a daunting job.

We charge a basic flat rate of $1000. Here's a set of RBs going into a 335i.

Notice that we've removed the subframe, making it much easier to access hard-to-reach fasteners. It might be faster to sneak the turbos in with the sub hanging off the front suspension, but it's worth it to remove it: way fewer headaches. Honestly, this is not a job that I would recommend for the novice or intermediate hobbyist. There are too many tricky bits and places to mess up.

I would also like to compliment RB on the quality of the turbos. They are top notch stuff.

whats FBO...?

Im running on JB4 right now, overhaul seems to be an expensive word :\

Don't know, it wouldn't be internals, it would be a replacement. But I did read that the converter on the 335d is different. Not sure because I'm having issues finding the information again. But I think after this weekend it would be worth looking into.

FBO = Tune, Intake, DPs, FMIC. I don't consider Meth & a Full CBE part of being FBO becasue not every1 runs meth & a CBE is only worth ~10 WHP.

And if you're gonna spend over over $3k on a turbo upgrade (RBs), you probably should have all these other mods (and maybe an LSD) done in advance.

Someone's gotta take the 1st chance. The 335d torque converter def has to be beefiery since the diesel engines got much more tq then an N54/N55, but someone's gonna have to see if the ZF responds well to it. With all the electronic pieces in newer non-MT trans, it's never a direct swap. Look at all the problems caused in the DCT & the upgraded clutch packs.

True, hopefully the vendors will step up and to the R&D. I know FFTEC is interested in finding a solution for the AT cars because it directly impacts the sale of single turbo upgrades to AT cars. MT owners know if they want power they have to replace their clutch. You want to play, eventually your going to have to pay. Shift Sector was really an eye opener for us considering how often do you get to pull through all the gears like that. You'll never see the same issue just on the dyno.
