VIS M3 Style Hood for 335 Request
Can someone provide decent photos of VIS's M3 style hood for the non m cars. I'm looking for the best m3 replica hood and this seems to be it. The **********s one looks like crap.

i had the VIS and got rid of it for the **********s vented one.
the Weave on the VIS was really bad. a bunch of bends and in the sun was too embarrassing to keep on the car. also on the m3 power dome, sitting in the drivers seat i could see imperfections. like dips and stuff that almost looked like dents. if you are going to paint then this is a non issue. fitment was fine (reasing reveiws of their stuff that was what i was most worried about) also the vents are not functional i thought they were since there was screws in the bottom, but when i undid them all, it actually dropped the whole vent louvers, i guess this makes it easy to paint the hood without painting the vents the carbon is darker on the **********s one. also the vents are functional on this one. fitment where it meets the front bumper isnt as good as the VIS.(see last pic) Also, the **********s one i believe is lighter (they say to get the M3 hood struts as the OEM 335 are too strong for the lighter hood, but i chose to just use 1 OEM. The VIS would only stay up for a couple seconds, while the 1 strut holds the **********s one up forever) BTW **********s one is made by Carbon8. Also, VIS came with the pivot point mounted on the hood for the strut, while the **********s one required to remove it from your stock hood (but of course mine was stubborn and i had to go buy the $7 part from the stealership) neither of them were/are perfect. attached are pics of both unfortunately i didnt take many of the VIS. do i miss the aggressiveness of the VIS? YES did i feel a bit embarrassed of the weave and dips? YES Am i perfectly happy now? NO if i were to do it again what would i do? get the duke dynamics LCI style vented hood If you have any more questions let me know, id be happy to help |

Thanks for the feedback. I would paint the hood except for the vents so the weave really wouldn't be an issue. I want a hood with the "power bulge" so the **********s hood is out since their bulge looks like garbage.

Here is mine, fitment is perfect but my friend has the same one and it fits like shit lol. So fitment is a hit or a miss with VIS.
