It's okay for prongs to be brown in certain areas:

With 13k on my '07 I think I have a ways to go before changing them. No perf mods here... yet.

31000. Just changed them today. Pretty easy DIY. Just make sure the engine is cold before you start. It makes getting the coils out much easier. I could actually pull the coils out by hand by turning them back and forth and then pulling straight up. Make sure you have pretty long extension too.

i know what you mean exactly but it was not that kind of brown... hard to explain without picture but once i pulled out i definitely saw those spark plugs were messed up by carbon built-up...

less than $80 is cheap and as long as you have right tool you should be able to get it done in an hour or so... compare to $300+ at the stealership, it's steal...

it was something like this... very close...

this picture below that i borrowed was taken with only 16k~17k miles of pump gas with couple race gas and few additives... op said most of miles, he was on tune but still, i would strongly advise any of 335i owner to change spark plugs at least every 25k~30k miles...

Most people just get OEM sparkplugs.

Just changed my plugs at 15k. They looked to be in good shape with no noticeable difference on #'s 5 or 6. I probably could have kept them for many more miles.

Just out of curiosity, changed them at 29K. The plugs looked really good. If I read it correctly, N54 is scheduled for 45K changes on the plugs.

Your car came with NGK or Bosch Iridiums from the factory.
