Brisbane Meet - proceded

Met up with Charlielu and his proceeded 335i. Definately a very different car to the stock 335i. I thought the 335 stock felt fast until I got into the proceeded version! It takes a while to be able to drive the proceded 335i properly (despite both the cars being autos) - sure it feels faster but to actually gain on an unproceded car takes a bit of experimenting. When I was driving Charlie's car (steptronic sports manual mode - no paddle shifts) I could not seem to gain on my unproceded 335i. Initially when we met up, Charlie would only gain on my unproceded car after about 3rd gear - his traction control kept kicking in - I was really surprised I could keep up with him and he was feeling he wasted his $1300AUD! But with practice he was able to gain on me from stop!

No Charlielu didn't waste his money !
Read on - Did Charlielu's Procede car have DTC/DSC disabled ? If not , that is the reason why the car felt like it had low power down low, due to the traction cutting in and limiting the power. Unfortunately the only way around this is to disable the traction control aids. Try first by pressing the DTC button to disable the first stage of traction control and check results or disable it completely (hold in DTC button in for 5 seconds ). Once you turn it all off, the car should punch alot harder of the line, but watch the wheelspin as that will need controlling by feathering the gas pedal till the tyres hookup.
Warning - car can become uncontrollable and will slide alot easier thru bends (no LSD SUX) so be extra careful. DRIVE SMART AND BE SAFE !!

First few couple of runs I was a bit dissapointed about the results but thats possibly due to getting used to driving my slow little audi where wheel spin wasn't an issue.

Daniel pointed out to me during the last few runs, you really can't just "step on it" but you really have to press down smoothly on the pedal.

On my best runs against daniel's car, I managed to pull about 1 or 1.5 car length ahead of him.

The exhaust will be going on this thursday hopefully if all goes well. Will be interesting to see what differences it'll make.

Would love to see those beasts in person. We should put together the next E46Fanatics meet and get some E90post guys along for the adventure. Maybe have a proper photoshoot?

We experimented with DTC removed and then all traction control off completely. traction control didn't seem to be a problem (read: engaging) with the unproceded car. With DTC off on the proceded car it didn't seem to make any difference between that and everything off. As our experiment continued it became apparent of hints of turbo lag, ie. you'd essentially be waiting until like 2-3,000rpm for the umph to really kick in, subtle but apparent. By the end of our experiment I was easily being left behind from the start.

Sounds great .... I'll be in that.

So where was the secret location of the experiment held ??? Looks like some nice quiet industrial estate.

Let me know when you guys are catching up. If I can make it I'd love to.
Stock 335i v Proceed 335i v Exede 335i. Sounds good.

Ozmod - met you at the track day at Warwick a while ago. I too would be interested to observe the performance of the procede and exede once charlie gets his exhaust fitted. there's no question though that you'd both blow the stock away.

Pretty much what you see plus Bilstein shocks and H & R springs. Custom exhaust plus some carbon fibre which helps with the look. Just about to order a vorsteiner bonnet with carbon fibre vents, performance brake pads and also a few other goodies. My car parks in Surfers during the day. Probably where you saw it.
