Owned by the DSC trifecta
So a few months ago the famous DSC lights came in. All three of them. So far I've cleaned the Steering Angle Sensor (as it turns out this isn't the issue - turn signals work normally), replaced the DSC Computer end (didn't clear lights - still had 5DF0 and 5DF1), replaced the hydraulic pump end of the DSC module (still have the 5DF0 and 5DF1). It really is so frustrating! Now I'm getting a brake pressure sensor warning along with the other group of DSC lights.
I had taken the car over the Eastside Bavarian. So far I've given them $560 for labor alone and they just scratch their heads and ask for more money to continue giving me no answers. Anyone have any local experience with this? I see so many threads and comments on the web about e90 DSC problems. I'm really surprised that EB said it was a rare problem on my car. Any insight or advice would be much appreciated. I'm almost ready to take it to the dealership and see if they can fix it... Joe |

As I mentioned above, my lights came on after we installed some lowering perches. DSC, ABS, Brake lights were all on. The anti roll back or whatever it's called also said it was disabled, but I tested it out and it still worked. I took it to a guy and the codes read Front left ABS sensor. Bought the part from ECS tuning for $80 and replaced it in less than 10 minutes at my work garage. Hopefully your situation is similar so you don't have to waste any more money. |

I got the exact same thing with my car the other day, Im hoping it's as simple as replacing my battery (which due to recent events is completely fried) if that doesn't fix it I'll take it in and get the codes read. It went off for a while today and everything still worked (ie: dsc and cruise control and hill brake assist) so if it's not the battery, it's probably just a sensor (hopefully) haha

Yeah, BMWNW had to special order it.... I thought it would be $25 like the brake wear sensor, since they even look exactly the same, but it was $115 =( still not too bad though considering what else it could have been!

abs sensor is electromagnetic induction, more complicated than running current thru a wire |
