Please can I have your opinions on this car?

Hi guys,

Sorry if you're bored of the "what do you think of this deal" kind of questions, but its good to get some opinions from people who know what's what..... and I've got some questions which I know you guys will have the answer to.

So here's the car

£32850 59 reg 330d M Sport in black with Oyster Dakota leather 6000 miles

Extras are

Satnav
6FL
M Sport steering wheel
Folding mirrors
Split fold rear seats
Heated Seats
Privacy glass

So, what price do you think would be fair for me to pay? Obviously I don't want to pay the sticker price!

Some questions about the spec:

-What does the M Sport steering wheel offer/look like?

-Does the folding mirror package stick the mirror down when you reverse?

-There is no Hifi upgrade (my main doubt about the car) - it sounds OK as standard but how easy is it to upgrade the system to the level of the Business system which I heard and was happy with?

Thanks a lot!

Is this an e90 (saloon) with a manual gearbox ?

If so, I just ran this spec through the online quote system at www.broker4cars.co.uk and the price for a brand new car would be £ 33,294.80

The M-sport steering wheel is probably the third picture down in this thread

The buttons (top to bottom, left to right) are

volume up
volume down
voice command
dial/answer phone

horns

change audio source
A/C recirculate
Next track
Previous track

if it's anything like mine (E90 330D M Sport, 08 plate)

HTH!

Sorry, forgot to mention, yes, saloon but with an auto box

But based on your quote, looks like it's not a great deal....

Bluetooth? hard to resell without.

I'd go for around 10-15-20% off the price of a new one - trouble is they can sell these to company/fleet buyers etc. who need one quickly and therefore they can sell far too near list IMO (from a private buyers perspective). Company/fleet will likely demand bluetooth though, so they maybe keen to shift it.

It must only be 2-3 months old - but has done 6k miles - pro rata thats 24k-36k miles a year usage!

It will cost you around £500 to get an Alpine upgrade fitted at a dealer (equivalent of BMW Business sound).

The m-sport wheel is standard with that car - it's not an extra, the price is scandalous for a second hand car. Take £5k off the price, at least.

seems a pretty steep price. Folding mirror package just electrically folds the whole wing mirror against the car, for things like tight parking spaces or to stop idiots bumping into them.

I'm a bit confused tbh on this one.

BMW's list price for a basic new E90 330d M sport auto is £35,360. That broker4cars quotes list price for the same car as £36,109 but THEIR price £30,734, quite a discount.

With the spec. you've stated, that car new from BMW is around £39,455, but obviously certain options have no second hand value whatsoever.

You've stated it has sat nav so is this the professional sat nav including blue tooth prep. etc?

The electrically heated folding door mirrors do dip the passenger side wing mirror if the mirror adjustment 'button' is placed on the left side of the 3 position option ie. don't have the 'button' sitting in the middle.

Does it not only dip if you have electric memory seats?

Now you've said that you've got me thinking lol and I believe it's been mentioned before. Maybe I'm getting confused with the Porsche whereby that function came with standard seats. Still a handy feature which I like.

Forgot to say, gotta love that M sport steering wheel, still my favourite.

I reckon you could buy that car brand new for about £34K with a 10-12% discount, if not from a main dealer then from an internet intermediary broker. Therefore, that specific car you list is not good value at all, unless they take at least £2-£3K off the screen price. Tell the salesman that you don't value the options - exactly how they would treat you come trade in - therefore you would like the car for £29K.

Is it professional navigation as part of the Media Pack, or is it business nav? Also find out the build date to make sure it is a MY09 car with the new iDrive.

dont know if it helps, but have just taken delivery of a 2009 (June) 09 330d msport with the following options.

Auto (1600)
Leather (1000)
Media (1900)
Visibility (700)
Electric Mem seats (800)
Privacy Glass (200)
USB (200)

This car with 4k miles was stickered at 31k, but i paid 29k. List was just over 40k.

The car you are considering is a little newer, but the spec is not so extensive & the mileage higher, so I wouldn't want to pay more than 30k for that car.

The passenger mirror will dip in reverse if you have all electric seats OR you have powerfold mirrors.

Thanks guys

http://www.sytner.co.uk/search/bmw-3...cle&vhl=-75140

Here's the car, yep its the nav with the bluetooth.

I think it was new in Oct, and this price and mileage is for a Jan sale (I think).

So, you reckon 30k max for this? That's quite a lot off the sticker price - is that realistic?

The Alpine upgrade..... Is this something that all dealers know about and can do? £500 sounds OK...

ps: more pics on the link now, the one with the steering wheel wasn't on there before hence why I asked

Car sold not easy this used car buying... That's two i've really wanted and lost out on.

I've got the chance to go for the same car as on this thread, but without folding rear seats and folding mirrors, but with adaptive healights.

Would you guys rather have the lights, or the mirrors and folding seats?

I'm thinking not having the folding seats could be really annoying0 when you go to ikea or want to get rid of the xmas tree.

Would the lack of folding seats and mirrors be a deal breaker though?

It does seem a bit odd that folding mirrors are an option as they are standard on my Leon, but I guess BMW are famous for charging for everything!

For those of you without the folding seats, how good is the boot for large loads? How often do you find yourself wishing you had a more flexible load area?

If you fancy a used 330i with folding seats then I happen to know where this is a very good one for sale

I think it's a really useful option that should be standard (as is the case on coupes). It can't even be retro-fitted as their is a structural brace in the way.

Used them a fair bit to be honest, mainly carting about kids bikes etc.

I dare say you could manage without them though.
