They said 'bump stops'
I suspect they had to remove the entire strut and dismantle it to replace the bump stops at the top.
Subsequent to that, after putting it all back together it went for KDS alignment. As I said, it was in for two days.

I'd hazard a guess that it probably didn't need the alignment but the Dealer has to be certain that everything is right and as it was in warranty I didn't argue...

Just on this, I power hosed the arches out on Sunday as I put each wheel on and paid particular attention to the top of the front an rear struts. I haven't been over any speed bumps so far but it might have helped to get the crap cleaned off to start with. Hope to get a look at the weekend and spray a load of copper grease in round.

I can hear this creaky noise sometimes at low speeds but only after I have traveled for a long time i.e. for over one hour. must be these aux dampers.
